I saw this on one of the news channels yesterday. Do we really need this? A few have a liitle heart on the front with the words "eye candy". All I can say is "Not my daughter". (well, if I ever have one). Does this creep anyone else out?

Ew.
Yep, almost as creepy as Mary Kate and Ashley having their own lingerie line.

LITTLE GIRLS ARE NOT SEX OBJECTS.

what i don't understand is...
you know, society and the industry (except for the fine people of phillip morris/RJR/and budwiser) are so concerned about tobacco and alcohol use getting younger and younger. that illegal drug use is getting younger and younger. kids are killing kids in school and at home. they whine, bitch, and moan about how all the tv and video games are "setting horrible examples to our young, impressionable children" but it is totally ok, in their eyes, if their ten year old wears make up, designer perfumes, and lingerie. it's ok if the darling little girl wants to go on a diet, even if she's perfectly fine. lets get the kid some magazines where the women are as big around as my wrist and let it sink through the children's head that they must be shinyn and round and beautiful and wear make up and dress sexy and they must do so at all cost.
seriously. it's enough to make me sick.

I get annoyed when I go to places like TopShop and the only knickers they have are those damn eensy-weensy thongs for little girls. A generation is being raised to believe that this is the only acceptable underwear they can have! Let's be honest here, having a string up your ass all day is not comfortable (it irritates me, anyway!). These poor girls will never know the comfort of Bridget Jones-style big pants, or even cute little high leg knickers (my own preference).
And it's sick to make little girls into sex objects, even if they're begging to becuase all their friends have thongs.....that goes without saying!

Most children's clothing today seems too sexualized, and more appropriate for teenagers. This just takes that to a whole new, sickening level.

whats weird about it is it seems as though the lines just keep getting pushed back. not TOO long ago it was considered out of line for a 16 year old to wear a mini skirt. now its VERY normal. and it keeps getting younger and younger. when are people going to realize you have to keep the line drawn SOMEWHERE..otherwise we might be seeing thong diapers soon.:m :m

yeah it is, it's downright fucking disturbing.:m

whats even more disturbing is that there are parents who would actually buy these for their children.

I am officially disturbed. Geez, you see little kids pulling out wedgies ALL THE TIME, why would you want to give 'em a permanent one? That aside, children are not sex objects.

You know, the thong part is just dumb. Bad idea. But the "eye candy" part is what's really disturbing. What on earth were they thinking?

Yuck. I don't like to wear those and I'm 16, not 10.

They would not keep making this horribly sexualized stuff for little girls (things like thongs, tube tops, and mini skirts) if parents weren't buying them for their kids anyways. 10 year olds don't have jobs; if they're buying shit it cause mommy and daddy are buying it for them. If I was a mom, I would dress my daughter in a damn sack cloth. This whole Britney Spears era is making me sick. :m
Thank you, that is all.

If I have a little girl, I will have her wear cute and APPROPRIATE clothing for her age. A little girl I work with at my job always comes in with the most precious outfits. Kudos for her mother. It's something that little girls should wear, to state what they are: Little girls. Not sex objects who wear mini-skirts and thongs. I'm amazed by people who buy these things for their kids. HELLO? Feed a pedophile's fantasy, why don't you.

i think this is just plain gross. wht kind of message is this sending? esp to little kids. but the reason they want to dress like this is b/c of the girls they look up to like brittany spears :m little girls should not want to wear thongs ( i don't even like to wear them. i can't stand them for the life of me) or be sexy. i didn't even know wht sex was whn i was 8. but i also blame the parents, you let your 8 -9-10 even 11 12 or 13 y rold buy a thong, u have something wrong w/ u. u are spoiling your child. i think children are getting more and more spoiled and used to getting wht they want fr/ their parents b/c the parents feel guilty for working all the time. i'm so curious as to where our society is going to be 10 yrs from now concerning stuff like this. it amazes me sometimes the stuff tht goes on in this world, but this DEFINITELY crosses the line.

It worries me how sexualised young girls clothes are getting. Boys clothes are still fun and fashionable. Don't the manufacturers think further than their own profits? Don't they have women working for them? And don't they have daughters? What's wrong with these people?

As far as I'm concerned, when you are a Woman physically AND mentally you can wear whatever you want.
When you are a child, a little girl, you need to wear something appropriate. When you buy those types of things for your little girl, all you are doing is letting the media manufacture another Britney Spears.

"It's not appropriate for a 7- year-old(to wear a thong), but it is appropriate for a 10- year-old. Once you get about 10, you start to care about your underwear, and you start to care about your clothes."

Since when do 10 year olds think about how sexually pleasing their underwear is? When I was ten, the only thoughts I had on underwear was worrying about it creeping up my crack in public and being to embarassed to pull it out.

Ugh. We own stock in Abercrombie.
It's going to be sold ASAP. And I just sent them a nasty letter.

"It's not appropriate for a 7- year-old(to wear a thong), but it is appropriate for a 10- year-old."
In a few years time that statement will read "It's not appropriate for a 4- year-old(to wear a thong), but it is appropriate for a 7- year-old."
God! This is outrageous! It just gets worse and worse as we get older doesn't it? I'd love to have been at the meeting where they came up with this idea, just to hear how it came up and what their reasoning was. Leave it to fucking Ambercrombie. Next thing you know in a few years time they'll be making thongs for infants!

do children buying these have parents?
also, are the maufacturers aware that they're sending a direct invitation to pedifiles?

Talk about mixed messages. Child pornography is supposed to be bad and evil, yet children are encouraged to wear thongs and makeup at the age of ten. Reminds me of how women are supposed to weigh 65 pounds, yet constantly have McDonald's ads shoved down their throats.
