I have no idea if he's naturally chubby or not. But he might gain weight easily, who knows. I'm just tired of magazines who take pleasure of showing celebrity weight gain (they did it with Kate Winslet too).

*cries!* I am someone with a 'boyish' figure! No offense, I love you to death Mia, but statements like this always piss me off. Its like.. So what if actresses have popularized them, thats no reason to say they are not sexy or unfeminine, because there are actually people out there built like that and its just as horrible as calling someone a big fat cow. Take me for example.. That statement did make me a feel a little shitty about my body. Why can't we just take people for what they are? Every woman who is equipped with a vagina is beautiful, sexy, and feminine in my eyes. Just because one body type is popular at a time, does not mean you should rebel against having that body type. What about Marilyn Monroe's era. She did not have a 'boyish' figure, nor was she skinny, neither were most actresses of that time. What I hate, about today's actresses, is that they all seem the be made of the same mold. I'll take one example from a totally random movie... hmm... let's choose Lord of the Rings... :D

We're all drooling over the guys there. Orlando, Viggo, Elijah, Sean Bean... they all have VERY different body types. While you look at the girls... Liv and Cate... and most other Hollywood actresses, really: Gwyneth, Jennifer Aniston, etc. They all seem to have more or less the same body type. And women look at them and see that the only body that is beautiful is one that is tall, very slim, not too big of an ass and big boobs.

Guys on the other hand can be slim (Orlando), short (Elijah), have greasy hair (Viggo :p), muscular (Vin Diesel), nerdy (Tobey Maguire), old (Sean Connery)...

Unfair.

Anyways, I'm not sure I'm making sense, it's late and I had a hard day at work. But the important thing is this: we are all beautiful.

They aren't really conventional beauties (even though Liv is like a model) and Liv isn't all that thin. Both of them have pretty unusual and striking faces so... ok, this subject always bugged me because i do think the media forces this image how how a woman should look on everyone and it's so damging and biased. i mean no one looks like these women in hollywood, and plus they have millions of dollars to get themselves to look that way. short women, curvy women, big butt women (lol me) just women who are normal, we all have thousands of different kinds of bodies, are underepresented. what reeally pisses me off is when people comment on actresses who are normal and they they're chubby or looks like they've gained weight. my mom does that ALL THE TIME. it pisses me off somuch because she seems to have this peeve with weight. like, anyone who isn't skinny she feels the need to say something and i get so pissed off, like who are you to judge? she goes aroudn saying how flat her stomach is but she does have a paunch and is not flat stomached. ugh!!! people need to grow up with this . ( sorry i always get riled up with this subject)

Mandy.. That also goes both ways. Some people are just naturally built like the popularized figures today, but you can't just be like OH well they must of had surgery! Or something like that. I understand your frustration with the media pushing one image at us that is right, but just because the media is pushing that image at us does not mean that normal unfamous people built like that are deliberately comforming. And you know what.... The media has been pushing images at us ever since they came into being. The images just changed, like I said before, you go watch Turner Classic Movie channel and you see that back then there was quite the different standard of beauty. Go back even further to when they considered heavier pale women more beautiful. We have to face the fact that one image or another will always be considered more beautiful... But realize that it changes with time!!! Perhaps we are feeling it more now as the media grows in size and power but this has really been going on for a long time... So its kind of unfair to say I hate how the media pushes this image of thin big breasted women at us.. because years ago they were pushing the image of curvacious Marilyn Monroe type of women at us...

I think, yeah it is damaging, but theres a point where you just have to step back and say Whatever, the fashion will be different in a couple years and they'll be pushing a different image at us... And what I'm trying to get at is that Just because the media is pushing a certain body type at us, does not mean that body type is unhealthy or ugly just because it is backed by the media.

i'm not saying everyone in hollywood conforms to this one particular type of body, but, many do ( mostly models it is who bug me) and that is what upsets me. take cosmo for example, every single girl you see in there is about 5'6'-5'9' thin, beautiful, and their whole body flawless. i hate that. women do not want to look at these women, they want people like themselves, normal curvy women, short women, big hipped women etc. i stopped buying those magazines for that reason.

point being, i hate the media!

Kelly Clarkson! I love her. I agree, she does look a lot like Reese. Although, I think she looked better before she streaked her hair. Then again, I like her more for her beautiful voice

Personally, I think the media is getting better. Different types of women are well accepted now. I'm thinking in particular of Star Jones, Rosie O'Donnell, Oprah and Camryn Manheim. These women are very successful and not at all the standard body type. Do they get made fun of, well, of course they do. There will always be people out there who can't get out of high school. OIT proves that theory. But, these women are doing well. "Plus size" models are sought after now. There are alot more stores and catalogs for large women then there were just 5 years ago.

Do I still hate the image of Victoria Secret models walking the runway in underwear? Absolutely. It is making a bad impact on our kids. There are three boys that run around our neighborhood. They constantly say something about how fat my fiance and I are. "Well, fat people have those type of problems." I can't even count how many times they've said that type of statement to me. These kids are 14 and 12 years old.

What is the answer? Good parenting. But unfortunately that is hard to come by. Parents have faults too. Anyway, i'm rambling and I think I'm not making sense anymore.

So, this weekend, I got to hang out with an x-bf of mine. Wasn't that interesting! Actually it was good. He and I are still (kinda) friends. And we each had out fiance's there. I really liked his girl. She was great. We had a good time. :) And today he's sent me about 8 emails already. It's good to have him as a friend again. He was the first guy I was ever in love with. And even though I'll never forget that, I am glad to just hang out with him.

Oh I'm having a lot of fun with the class too, its just the work load that's getting me down. We're studying Hypnosis and Sleep right now, very fascinating stuff. And my professor is loaded with stories that really help you understand what he's teaching, and also keeps you interested as well.

It's a (very good) Icelandic movie, "101 Reykjavik". The girl is Spanish actress Victoria Abril. I love that pic, I use it in one of my sigs :)

I'mn like unbelievably drunk right now. I dont even remmember the last time I've been that drunk. Lol.

The thing is... the bosses at work bought some wine tonigh. So we drank and drank. Adn then we went ot this little bar I like. And there's this guy at work who liked me, but I'm not attracted to him at all. But he kept buying me drinks. Then, we went on the dance floor. And I looked at this guy that I though was incredibly cute. And he looked at me too. Unbelievable. Then we started talking. And dancing. And we went outside abd stanrted talking. And then we kissed. :f Anyways. He drove me home and I gave him my number and he gave me his. I doubt he'll ever call me, but who knows. He was cute. :p

I feel kind of bad for posting this after I read about mandy's bad day, but I'm so happy, I had to share. :)

Today was just filled with little surprises that made me soooo happy. And let's just say that I've been totally depressed for the past few days, so it's a good change.

First, I got a good ticket for the Toronto show.

Then, a guy from work bought me a little Harry Potter made in almond paste. I totally did not expect that.

Then, my boss gave me 2 cover stories to translate and I was happy because I don't get to do that often anymore and it's my favourite thing to do.

Then, and that's the better part. The newspaper I'm working for is doing an auction with very cool items. Unfortunately, employees of the newspaper can't bid on these items. :( I helped a lot with the auction website, I translated a bunch of stuff and proofread everything. I worked late and I even brought work at home a few times. Well today, my boss told me that to thank me for my good work, I could choose an item in the auction (300$ worth). :e I chose a one-night stay in a spa, with a massage, a facial and a pedicure. This will be so amazing :) I was very very very happy. :e

Then, one of my friends told me she had an extra ticket, 7TH ROW CENTER, for Tori in Montreal. This is like 1894032849 times better than what I have now. Since my friend Pascal is going with 3 other friends (that I don't even know anyways), I'm hoping he won't mind if I ditch him to get a closer seat. ;) We'll see. But then I'll have to sell yet another ticket.

So. That was my great day.

Well, can you give me a basis on what Lord Of The Rings is about? much appreciated

Lord of the Rings is an epic adventure tale of good triumphing over evil. It is frought with action, woe, and HOT HOT MEN! The main character is Frodo, a Hobbit (which is basically a race that is very short) and there is this evil ring forged by THE Dark Lord and the ring has the power to enslave all of Middle Earth. It falls into Frodo's hands and he learns that the only way to destroy it and its evil is to burn it in the fires of Mount DOOM (the name says it all, really) and so Frodo, with his faithful companions sets out to destroy the ring and rid the world of evil! On his way he meets many different interesting people and encounters many races etc etc. However, evil is always on his tail in the form of Ringwraiths, Orcs, Uruk Hai, and other evil servants of the Dark Lord.

Orlando Bloom is the actor who plays Legolas, an Elf from Mirkwood, in the movie Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, he is hot, we worship him, etc. GO SEE IT!

Well I have a cold or allergies or something which has been making me feel shitty all day. aww, lydia, i hope you feel better sweetie;k , everyone i know has been hacking and coughing and getting sick. last night i wasn't feeling good and my mom gave me an allergy pill and around 9 feel asleep until 10:30, i got so tired. bleh! i hated all that homecoming bs too, my senior year i wanted to boycott all my high schools events, even my prom, but my friend convinced me to go. college is alot better, you actually have a decent choice of what you can do:)

I have class at 10 tomorrow and attendance is part of the grade. Arrgh! Then again, a lot of people seem to be having trouble getting good seats with the pre-sale. Hmm. I haven't decided yet.
