i haven't actually written anything by myself but there is a sight people have had to have heard of.

there are thousands of stories there. but its tough to weed out the good ones from the bad.
some are absolutely tacky, like one where this girl made hermoine into a brittany wannabe. it was horrid.
but yeah, there's a TON there.

www.fanfiction.net has tons of HP fics, but a lot of them are crap.

Try www.fictionalley.org - they've got a lot of good stuff.

Sugar Quill owns an archive, but I can't for the life of me remember the address!

Man, I've been reading Harry Potter fanfiction for 2 years, and that's all I can think of. How pathetic! But then, I mostly stick to mailing lists :)

On one of my back burners, I have a short story I'm working on called, "Harry Potter in the Land of Oz". They use the same kind of magic in both places, and Harry & his friends have the same sort of attitudes as the Oz characters.

Depends on what you read. Once you read a good one, everything changes.

Personally though, my favorite pairing is Snape/Sirius Black. Just soooooo many possibilities :p
