I was just wondering...
If someone were to get pregnant while on the pill, what different symptoms would they have? I don't get periods while on the pill, usually, and it seems that the pill would mess with the normal system of it quite a bit.
Also, if you didn't know that you conceived, and kept taking them, how would it affect the baby?

My best advice to ANYONE who thinks they might be preggers and they are using the pill...STOP using the pill and see a doc ASAP. I don't know if taking a pregnancy test while on the pill will give you a false negitive result when your'e on the pill...but if I thought I could be...well then it's safe to say that I very well could be.

I don't anything about how it could effect the symptoms of a pregnancy, but every woman has various symptoms...that can also mean the are going to start their periods soon (breast tenderness, cramps...etc.) so I wouldn't go by that either. Go to a doctor, and remember, even if you are pregnant, chances are the pill has had no serious effect on the pregnancy.

i got pregnant with my daughter while i was on the pill. at that point i was only having a period once every 2-3 months, so missing one was not any kind of tip-off for me.
i had no real symptoms at all until after i found out. i hadn't had a period for 3 or 4 months, and honestly, i thought something was "wrong"--i would have bet you a million dollars that i wasn't pregnant. i discussed it with my husband and he convinced me to take an at-home test just to be sure. and, well, sure enough.... i had been taking the pill for about 3 weeks after i conceived, before i found out.
i asked my doctor about it at my first visit, if there was a chance that taking the pill could've done any damage. she basically told me that if it would've had any effect at all, i wouldn't have gotten that far into the pregnancy, if you get my drift. since the pregnancy was still progressing normally at that point, i could be sure that it had no harmful effects at all.
Ryoko! is absolutely right-- if you think you might be pregnant, stop taking the pill immediately and see your doctor. but if your pregnancy is still going normally at that point, you'll probably be fine.
