I highly suggest checking out mommy/baby yoga and fitness classes to all new moms. I have lost most of my baby weight and have my hips and waist again! I have regained strength, flexibility and stamina. We focus on strengthening our back, abdomen, and pelvis and proper positioning for feeding to reduce back tension and discomfort. It's nice because I don't have to leave my baby, he lays down in front of me and even does some of the positions with me. He also gets his own baby yoga and massage session during our cool down. We also get to meet other babies Vincent's age. There is a dad in our class too, so it's not just for moms. If you have the ability to attend even one session you should. If money's an issue I know of classes that allow payment by the session for as low as $5 for mama and baby. I'm sure there are free classes too but I haven't found any yet.

oooh that sounds reallly great. i have a video tape of mom and baby yoga, but somehow i think it woud lack in interaction :e
i think i'll check into classes around here. it would be a great way to meet other new mothers, especially since i'm staying at home with ethan and i don't see very many people anymore!

thanks sAc :)

Thanks ladies!

Rishta, you really should look into a class. I have met some great mothers and lined up some playgroups because of my class! By the way, how's your boy doing? He is 3 months now isn't he?

that sounds awesome julie :) how old are the oldest babies/kids that youve seen or know of in those types of classes?

i like yoga a lot but i prefer to do it alone - its one of those "me time" activities i cherish.

you sound like youre have so much fun being a new mommy. i have to admit im a little jealous of how easily you seem to be adjusting. i was a nutcase (in a good way) for a couple months after each of my childeren was born. i just felt bewildered all the time.

so kudos to you!
