You could offer to come over her house (if she WANTS you to) and help her keep her house clean, pick up groceries for her, order take-out, a gift certificate for a massage...do her laundry...
trust me, these sort of things are much more appreciated than a binky or a blankie (that just means more laundry! ahhh!).

after labour and delivery? hmmm an episiotomy with the extra stitch, lots of drugs, and magic fairies to clean my house and change diapers.
