Hello all!

I have another damn wedding to attend and I need more advice on makeup! You guys were so wonderful last time!! I cannot begin to describe my love for the Stilla eyeshadow I bought on a recommendation from here (see: http://209.123.85.43/showthread.php?t=202479) . Now I need more makeup! MORE MORE MORE! I use these dresses as an excuse to buy new stuff!

So, what makeup should I wear with this dress:

Can you give us an idea of your colouring? Skin, eyes, hair, typical make-up regimen.

There's a photo of taylore in the thread she links above - she's in the pink dress.

When is the wedding? If you can wait till next month then I think MAC's joyberry lipglass would be perfect with that.

I'm thinking possibly the Stila Kitten that you already have as a base and then something like Stila's Barefoot Contessa (which is a great shimmery brown) blended on your lower lid. Then line with a black pencil like MAC's Smolder. The reason for that instead of using your liquid liner is because you could use a Q-tip to sort of smudge the pencil line to diffuse it and it will look much more subtle. For mascara, I'd reccomend YSL's false lash effect mascara in black. It is great! I really think you'll love it.

As for blush, you could either use the Orgasm that you already have or you could try Nars Sin blush. I think it would be perfect with that dress (which is lovely by the way).

I don't know what the Joyberry lipglass looks like but if Carole reccomends it, you know it'll be great!

Let us know what you do!

Woops yea. Like Mynx said - I linked to a photo. But I'm a pale girl, brown hair, green eyes! :)

The wedding is a week away, so any other lip ideas?

Thanks again!

I see a smoky top eye lid and sheer, glossy lips with this outfit.

Try a Nars Lip Lacquer in Eros or possibly a Stila lipglaze in Plum.

Yes, I agree with smokey dark lids. If you can find something like a metallic eyeshadow creme, go with that. With a dress like that, you can afford to go a little glam. :)

If you're not comfortable with dark eyes, there are a lot of fabulous gold and bronze shades out there now. If you're near a Wal-Mart, check out their Rimmel line - metallic creme eyeshadows for under $3 a piece. Hoxton is a great, rich gold shade, and they have a lovely berry shade called 'Soho' that would look great.

I'm also brown haired/green eyed, so if they work for me they should work for you. If you like a warm look around the eyes, Rimmel also has a special eyes eyeliner pencil for under $2 in a shade called Ginger Tea that can double as a lipliner if you wear brownish-red shades. With that dress, however, you might want to think going lighter with the lipstick shade, or more golden, so you don't look like you're trying to match the colours. If you're going with gold eyecolour, that is. If you're going dark, I think the plum would be lovely.

I'm totally fine with dark eyes. I'm a big fan of eye makeup!

I am wondering if the NARS Orgasem blush will clash slightly with the dress. It's very pink. Hrmm.

What about an alternate for the Stilla Kitten too (so I can have an excuse to buy something new).

I love you all, my makeup faeries!

I see this as a lip dress. I think you should totally focus on the lips and little on the eyes. My other rec would be MAC Oceanberry lustre lipstick with a burgandy lip pencil.

I think you need a brown based blush for this like Sin or MAC Prism

Sorry third post! If you want to go for dark eyes, I would suggest a jewel tone green or a deep green like humid eyeshadow shaded with sketch. I think the eyes should complement that gorgeous dress color.
This dress is very 50's grace kellyish-so I think it really would be best with a classic face and gorgeous lips.

Okay I'm done now :)

Be careful not to go too dark on the eyes though, I know you wear glasses and you have to be careful not to over do it. I wear glasses too and when I am wearing my glasses I tend not to go too dark on the eye because with glasses it can be really over powering. If you're wearing contact lenses though, you can go darker.

I think a combo of something like Nars eyeshadows in Nepal all over and Ondine on the lid would be really classy with this dress. And I really think you should check out Nars Sin blush. I think it would go perfectly with that dress.

I can't agree with Carole (Galaxygrl) more when she says to go with a classic face and gorgeous lips.

Do you have a Mac in your area?

Also, if you're going to Sephora, check out Benefit's new eyeshadows and blushes - they're really nice!

Oh I didn't realize you wore glasses taylore---the smoky eye might work better with contacts. do you wear contacts?

if you are sticking to glasses, then i think the classic face as Galaxygrl mentioned would also be lovely: a heavily, dark lined upper eye --liquid liner or dark pencil. like a cat eye. rowr! and a matte, deep-toned lipstick. very audrey hepburn.

;n

either way will be beautiful on you.

hey i also have dark hair and green eyes! :) that's 3 of us!
