There is an Indie film called "Far Too Gone" which featues a guy who "thinks he is Tori Amos". It sounds rather amusing... The press release states:

"You are cordially invited to take a ride on a train-wreck! Join us as we premiere the new delusional and disturbingly shocking psychodrama by director Brian Labrecque and Hollywood-based indie-producer Eric Scott. The film introduces us to Josh Lowell-- Seattle town pillar and transvestite-in-denial. Josh is like every other Tori Amos fan,with one minor exception, he thinks he IS Tori Amos. This minor flaw in his otherwise ethereal existence is the subject of an intrepid team of student filmmakers who follow Josh and his "posse" around town and watch the detritus hit the fan. Be there to say you were one of the first to see "Far Too Gone"! The film was short entirely in Seattle and stars a bunch of people you've never heard of but they're all really funny!

hello everyone.

I have TOTALLY enjoyed all of the wonderfully colorful posts regarding my new film 'Far Too Gone'. The truth is, I am a HUGE Tori fan, and the movie is sort of a tribute, but more just the story of a really deranged fucker. And considering its only $10 for the DVD, maybe some of you should actually buy and watch it before you snipe at it like a bunch of half-starved armchair movie critics, its so funny I counted like 20 bad posts but only about 3-4 indications that the trailer was even viewed. Just buy it and give it a fair viewing, you'll like it. Sure I would hope that Tori likes it, but who knows....

Well, I did watch the trailer, and . . . I still don't get it. I'm not sure what the point of bringing Tori into it really is. Maybe it somehow makes sense if you see the whole thing, I don't know. It did get my attention, in a "WTF?" kind of way, but the trailer didn't intrigue me or make me want to see it. I have the distinct feeling that watching it would just leave me even more confused and/or give me headache.

I watched the trailer and I'm sorry, but it just looked like a home-made movie with typically shoddy production values to me. The fact that Tori's name is being used interests her fans, but there's no indication that any thought was given to her flaky persona. It seems to be all about the protagonist's flaky persona, and that won't make us come out in droves to buy it. I certainly wish you luck with it, though, Brian. Maybe Redford'll choose it for the Sundance Film Festival and prove me wrong. :)

i haven't watched the trailer, and i came into this thread with a completely neutral attitude towards the film--even after reading many scathing posts. the thing is, it's not the comments of these kids that makes me not want to check out the film, it's the fact that i feel like i'm in the middle of an infomercial here. maybe if you treated us less like open wallets that can type, we'd be more likely to listen to what you have to say about your film.

I guess, like others have touched on before me, I dont' really see where Tori Amos comes in here. The premise sounds very funny-- especially for those who are familiar with Tori. But watching the trailer, I was struck by how un-Tori this character was. Perhaps he thinks he's Tori, but the resemblence between this character and Tori ends at their dyed-red hair.

Imagine instead a character like someone at the meet and greets gone insane. Someone who snaps and spontaneously adopts Tori's persona with all if its quirks and irregularities. Better yet-- imagine a chacter that decided to become Kate Bush. That would be funny, at least to Tori fans.

I must say, I was quite ready to pay the $10 after reading the director's post. But now that I've seen the trailer, I changed my mind.

HE REALLY does turn into a SWAN!!! and then all of these other strange creatures come out of the woodwork, like a purple monkey, and green rabbits and the film just TRIPS out from there and the next thing you know you're on another planet with martians, swimming in oranges!!! etc. ..And so it goes on and on and on until the end...and then boom---You find out it was someone on acid the whole time. The ending shows the person coming down from acid?
