Knitting Newbie!!

Hey ho everyone!!

I'm from the UK and was wondering if anyone knew of any good websites for the complete beginner. I mention that I'm in the UK cos, the needle sizes etc may be different. I'm also looking for crochet afghans etc, if anyone can help then that would be super!!

I'll be taking learn-to-knit classes starting tomorrow (every Sunday this month) and I'm so nervous! When my mom sat down to teach me a basic stitch (I don't know what it's called - I think it was from the Continental method) it was so hard for me to get it down.

I'm really excited to learn to knit, but I feel I need to have my mind eased a bit.
