Birth Announcements

How late is too late to send birth announcements? I haven't done it yet and was wondering if I should even bother since it's been 3 weeks since Ethan's birth.

I think that's about how long it took to send ours out, was about 3 weeks.

We took the easy way out. We went to the local party shop that does birth announcement printing (not like fancy ones that you order like wedding invites. Just they have blanks in the store that you can buy and they'll print them for you). We bought 2 blanks of the one we liked. We took it home, scanned it, added Nicholas's information, then my husband took the file to work and used their color printer to print them out. All we did was cut them and stuff them in an envelope with a wallet size picture.

If we had done the "filling out by hand" kind, they'd have NEVER gotten out!

I was hoping to do the kind similar to the Christmas card pictures people send. Where are those made? I have a perfect snap shot I want to use.

I think places like Wal-Mart and such can do those, just ask the photo lab if they do.

any photo place will do it. ritz camera, motophoto, walgreens.

I think that's a cool idea. And I think as long as you send them out before a few months have passed, it's ok. I should ask my mother in law, she's anal about that shit. :) LOL. It's so annoying.
