View Full Version : How much peanut butter can one child eat?

My son would eat PB&J sammies all day, every day if I'd let him.
He could live on PB&J, chocolate milk, French Toast (every morning for breakfast), rice, noodles, corn on the cob, and bananas.
As a matter of fact, I have great difficulties in getting him to deviate from this menu. ;)
What foods do your kids love?
My son has turned into a chocolate milk fiend! I can't give him plain anymore without him saying blech! I try to put in just a few drops and hope it will suffice. I guess it could be worse tho right!
my kids have a similar menu! PB&J and noodles with cheese. Anything cheese. Apples & peanut butter is another one.
my 7 yo is just starting to truly branch out but the boy, um no. yogurt, pb&j, noodles, oh and the "love-this-in-spite-of-my-vegetarian-mother" hot dog.
i love the "i don't like that" bit without ever even tasting it. HOW do you get a kid to take even one bite when they don't like the way something looks???

Ice cream, chips, cookies, any type of candy... My son's living with my parents at the moment and they practically allow him to eat whatever he wants. That's why my 5 y/o weighs 60 lbs. whenever I'm around (which is almost everyday), he knows he doesn't get to eat whatever he wants whenever he wants it. It sounds funny but I actually worry about what he eats and how much he eats. I swear he could eat us out of house and home.j

oh my goodness, I have a carbFREAK on my hands here. He loves any type of bread, pasta, and rice. He loves mac n cheese, bananas, chicken noodle soup (okay so just the chicken and noodles), green beans, apples, grilled cheese sandwiches. We've just gotten into peanut butter, he won't eat a lot of it, but he does like it.
But seriously, I think he'd be happy to live off mac n cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches and bananas if he could get away with it.

I was a total carb freak growing up, only we didn't even think twice of it because no one was counting carbs. And I think I turned out ok ;)
I remember thinking that a bagel and cream cheese was healthy because it didn't have sugar. Kind of funny looking back (considering that is about 600 calories!), but I think now people are totally over reacting to the carb thing, esp when it comes to little kids...

our bodies need carbs.
restricting kids' diets to anything less than healthy and varied is just silly to me...not to mention dangerous.

I wasn't saying I didn't want him eating carbs. I actually think the no carb fad thing is stupid personally. We just call him a carb freak because he could seriously eat nothing but bread and pasta all day every day given the opportunity. :)
