agghhhh! I'm so bloody sick of making this thread! this is like the fourth stinkin time!

Ok on the off-chance you haven't heard me rave like the rabid freak I am about Rico before, here's the deal:

The music is like this rock/trip-hop/fuck-knows-what-else fusion, and Rico plays and sings everything himself on the album, Sanctuary Medicines, released last Aug. in the UK but not at all here yet.

If you're interested in it and you're in America let me know because I think that they will be selling it for like $9.99 on the official site quite soon (much better than the $25 is costs on import), and if not I can probably try and work something out if you're absolutely desperate to have it.

Listen to audio here: http://www.rico.co.uk and here: http://listen.to/colours . And I can make whatever full-length mp3's ya want.

Ok that's all I have to say. Look at this pic now. And go listen to RICO (Rico Rico Rico Rico):

this was from a festival website, I think it's one of the better press summarys of Rico I've seen (though I don't agree totally with the 'roots clearly in blues music' part, I think it's more rock too and some other stuff). Anyway:

"Behind the name Rico hides the 26-year-old Brit, Rico Capuano. Rico made his debut last year with the album Sanctuary Medicines, which was recorded in his own home studio in his parents' garage with Rico playing most of the instruments himself. Rico's roots clearly come from blues music. His music is nevertheless contemporary and is best categorized as industrial rock lying somewhere between Nine Inch Nails and The The. Rico has brought his own band and on stage, he maintains a simmering fire as opposed to an outright explosion, thus creating an intense and intimate atmosphere. Rico's use of two microphones (one with pure vocal and one with effects) is especially worth experiencing."

I've seen about a combined 7 minutes of Rico live via various realvideo clips of performances, but nonetheless he's damn amazing on stage.

I thought I'd give this a boost. :) I threw a bunch of random mp3s on a cd last night for one of my friends and gave it to him this morning. I included "Smokescreen," I think it's something he'd like.
