Well, it's that time of year!
I love seeing pics of the toys your kids are into. It gives me ideas, and maybe I can give you some inspiration as well. Post your kids' favorite toys, and their age.

Don't have a picture of it but at the moment Nicholas's favorite things are the mini-sports ball set my husband bought. Its a mini soccer ball, a mini (american) football, and a mini basketball. He loves carrying them around, throwing them in trash cans, the laundry basket, through the cat door, playing ball with us. He's discovered he can move them with his feet too.
*edit*They're from Target. Pretty reasonably priced too--$5 for the set of all 3.
His other favorites are books. He likes to sit and "read" them. When you read to him he's always trying to turn the pages before you're done reading that page.

I don't know.
I hope it's not ANY kind of Elmo doll. The Hokey-Pokey one was cute. They should have stopped right there. Eesh.

we just got ethan the InteracTV system for Christmas.
I'm still not sure about it, but we're giving it a go.
This is what it's all about:
Made by Fisher-Price, this electronic learning system is comprised of an InteracTV DVD, which you insert into your home DVD player; a controller; and activity cards based on popular children's television shows. Plug an activity card into the controller, and games and activities featuring that show will appear on the TV screen. Nine touch points let kids interact with the characters, in lessons covering numbers, colors, animals, and more. Cards contain more than 100 learning questions and activities, posed randomly. This model comes with three activity cards--SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and Elmo's World--as well as a storage case to hold the cards and the DVD. A switch on the controller enables you to use the system on up to three different DVD players--say, in multiple rooms, or at relatives' houses.

sorry no pictures... :(
my son (3) has the Geo Trax train set by Fisher Price that we keep adding to. That thing kicks ass. They have a construction set. A fire set. A metro set. And the new one this year adds bridges and a clock tower. He loves it. it is TAKING over tho!!! he is 3. the only thing he actually asked for was "wac-a-mole" game.
my daughter (7) is into the Princess and the Pauper. Not the barbies. She doesn't like barbies. Just the cat "Serafina". and the music from the movie.
they both LOVE books and artsy stuff so i usually get stuff like that.
I haven't really heard what the "must have" toy is for this year.

If you buy my son an expensive gift like say some hot wheels set, it never fails that after 45 minutes of playing and destroying it's thrown in to the toy box with all the other expensive toys... Now, if you buy him a bag of marbles, he is set for the rest of the day. I really don't understand it. The one special gift I plan on giving him is a PlayItNow digital recorder. He'll love it because god knows he loves his music.

That train is cool! We want to get Xavier a train set, but we don't have the space for it here. Maybe in the new place. :)
Right now, Xavier's really getting into his cars and trucks. He has a dump truck, a fire truck, and he commandeered 3 of my husband's collectible PT Cruiser cars. He's constantly pushing them around the house saying "BRRRRRR". :)
For Christmas we got him the Megablocks Wagon and castle sets. And a Mula (?) toy. It's one of those wire stand toys with the beads on them. I'll try to find a picture and post it.
It's similar to this : http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00027P772/102-8637616-1154511?v=glance&s=imaginarium&m=A1PA6795UKMFR9&me=A1PA6795UKMFR9&vi=pictures&img=1#more-pictures
oh yeah, he's 17 months old. :)

im currently looking for those knotted dolls with the round, unmarked heads with knotted "hands" and "feet." anyone know a WAHparent who makes them? also i think im going to get the floor gym that has the overhead dangly things. maybe some more diaper covers as lucien is outgrowing his newborn ones already. but thats it. at this age he really doesnt "play" with stuff and wont have a clue whats going on.

Jack will be 15 this Christmas. He's in love with blocks of all kinds but he ADORES Peek-A-Blocks. So his bick gift this year will be the IncrediBlock. Here's a link to a pic. I can't wait for him to be able to play with it! We're only getting him a few more things other than that...The Leap Frog Farm Refrigerater Magnet set and some new cool bath toys. My family will take care of the rest.

(we already gave this one to her, she loves it!)
Jack, who is five, is way into Kid K'nex. They are a lot of fun, even for me! They are pretty inexpensive. I think I picked up two different sets for 10 - 15 dollars each.

I just got some of these things called Bed Buggs for my niece who is 7. I had no idea what to get a 7-yr-old and one of my friends suggested it. They are super cute and velcro onto backpacks and stuff. I hope she likes them. Last year I got her some cute books, but this year I wanted to get something a little different.
