I'm going through lists of baby names, and my head is going nuts.

i wont know if its a boy or a girl, so we will have to have two names picked out. So far I love Madeliene Isabella or Mazie Isabella for a girl and Elijah Gopal fora boy.

Now think of names you like, from history, books, movies. Anything that sounds cool, not too weird and would be a good standing name when they are 90.

thanks!

I'm dead inside, but if I ever had a little boy, he'd be called Tristan. I love that name.

A girl? Anne Marie or Lori Beth or Maggie Mae or Holly Ann or some two name sequence. I like those.

I like that name elijah. It's really pretty. My boyfriend would never go for it though. When we have another kid, we want a girl and we already decided on Mary Jane Angeles for her name. Atleast we won't be fighting over it. When I was pregnant with my son, I swear it took forever for his father and me to agree on a name. I think he's still pissed that I gave my son my last name too.

xo, angeles

I think Mazie's really sweet sounding. I've seen it spelled Maisie, too.

My husband and I are trying for a baby now. We're set on Gwendolyn Lenore for a girl and Neil Adrian or Liam Sebastian for a boy.

Elijah Gopal? That sounds like a hippy name...oh, wait. ;) Naming your son after anyone associated with the LOTR books/movies is bannedTM!

Go the geek route instead: Chewy, Ewan, Hayden, Lando, Lucas, Luke, Liam or Jabba for a boy. And for a girl Amidala, Leia, Natalie, Carie, or Mon Mothma.

Whatever you do, don;'t name your child something stupid. LOL. I mean, my folks named me Comie (after my dad) and it is so not a good name to deal with. So at least give your kids something they can live with. :)

I'm no good at guy names, but for gals I've always liked Rosaura and Arianna (Spanish flava!)

My friend got this book when she was pregnant and it had a ton of great names. I wasn't even thinking about having babies and I spent hours and hours reading it.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0312974620/qid=1104817591/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-3632834-2630419?v=glance&s=books

I like the name Celyn for a girl (pronounced Kellen...like Figglers). It's Welsh and I'm 1/2 Welsh. Found that one in that book.

I also like Olivia, but it's become really popular recently. My best friend used it as her daughter's middle name, so I doubt I would use it. (She's Blakely Olivia...Blake for short)

Girls:
Ava
Grace
Bridget
Claudia (but it still reminds me of The Babysitter's Club books)

Boys:
Mitchell
Jacob
Daniel
Jack

I like Mazie too, but I always thought of it spelled like Maize. or Maisy.

I've always loved Indigo for a girl (knew a girl when i was younger) or Saskia.

If I ever had kids, I'd name them all shades of blue. :)(cerulean for a girl? royal or cobalt for a boy?)

yeah. add that to the list of why i shouldn't have kids.

my first name is elijah, but i don't use it.
i think elijah is a fine name, but it would get shortened to eli - which i hate.
you gotta be careful with names that are comonly shortened. the abbreviated form can be nausieating.

Hey is there something WRONG with that name my Crisperino? That's my name HO! *smack*
No, you're confused, honey. Your name is Ho. *Smacks A Ho* ;P

But there is nothing wrong w/ the name Natalie (the name, dear, not you personally :D). KIDDING! ;k Natalie is the name of the actress who played the former Queen and Senator to Naboo so that's why it was amongst my SW name list. [angel1]

This thread reminds me of a bit the black guy (can't remember his name) on the 1st season of Last Comic Standing did about how he'd never name his daughters Latesha or Tamekia or something like that. He said, "I'm gonna name them something white like Barbra or Cindy and give my babies a fighting chance before they walk into the interview!"

For girls I love...

Emily
Kate
Maddie (it's the shortened version of Madison but I hate Madison LOL)
Lauran (it's like Lauren only pronounced -AN like and, it's my best friend's name)

Boys...

Preston
Tristan
Jake
Ethan

Wow, that was hard. Since I'm not having kids I don't think about it much!

Felicity (God damn that freaking TV show Kerri Russell GRRR. I loved it since I was 7 and read the Story Girl books by LM Montgomery but now could never ever use it.)
Ava (reminds everyone of Ava Braun though)
Clara (mine mine mine so nobody better steal it and make it the next "Taylor" or "Madison!" ;))
Claudia (but it means "lame" or "cripple" in latin.)
Amity (stupid haunted house book/movie. grr.)
Hannah Mariah (my dad's great-grandmother's name; it's what I was supposed to be named but my mom vetoed it. damn her, because i like this a LOT better than my actual name).

boys:
Dane (I'm Danish, so it fits)
Finn (I'm not Finnish, so it doesn't fit; I just like it.)
Bierly (pronounced Bye-or-lee; my dad's middle name and his mother's maiden name)

blah blah.

not like i need to be thinking about this ANY time soon
