how will i not make her feel pushed aside?

i know many of you had pets before you had children and have you ever had a problem with the animal becoming jealous?

I spend soo much time with my puppy and yorkie that im afraid when the baby gets here i wont pay them as much time. And I'm afraid of them being jealous of this new little squirmy thing. Did you notice that you didnt have as much interaction with your animals once baby came along, or was everything the same?

We have 3 cats, and we never really had much problem with them once Nicholas was born. While I was in the hospital one of them pooped in Nicholas's room (which is where their litter box used to be, we think its because no one was home to scoop the litterbox) but that was it. What we did is if one of us had the baby, the other would try to give some attention to the cats. They still would come sleep with us at night. And when Nicholas was napping and I was awake, I'd let the cats come sit in my lap and be petted, etc. I suppose the fact that my cats are rather easy going helped too. We just knew that we would NOT get rid of our cats just because we had a baby--we adopted our cats for life--so we tried as much as we could to still make them feel loved. And there's no love lost--the cats even now are still very affectionate and come to sit in our laps when Nicholas isn't there.
