I FINALLY bought Adore and PI!

So yesterday I went to the used cd store and bought these 2 cds. Only $9 and $6, not too bad. I listened to Adore today so here's my lil review (I'll be pissed if the server crashes again and I lose this thread):

- I don't like "To Sheila" or "Once Upon a Time"
- "Tear", "Appels + Oranjes", "Perfect", "For Martha", "Annie Dog" and "Ava Adore" are awesome!
- "Crestfallen" could probably become one of my top 5 (or top 10 atleast) favorite SP Songs
- I heard a live version of Blank Page on the radio and it was much better than the album version
- I got really pissed off at Track number 16 a few times. I kept thinking that the cd was scratched and that's why it kept stopping.
- Billy should have sung the lyrics on the back of the album booklet for "17"
- Why didn't anyone tell me about Darcy's pictures in the booklet. I kind of looked at the first picture and was like "are those her nipples?" and then I saw the second picture and my jaw dropped. WOW!



I'll listen to PI tomorrow and post about it. All I'm missing now is Gish and TAFH.

It is like my fave song... definately my fave from PI..

PI is also my 2nd fave album... 2nd only to MCIS.. and I think it is dearly underated...

My faves on Adore would have to be Pug, Crestfallen and Daphne Descends

And might I add.. you picked up a bargain!

aolhater73~ Speaking from experience, it took a LONG time to develop a taste for adore. So don't limit yourself to the songs you don't like now, because it's an acquired thing. Pug is one of my favorites, but I think Once Upon a Time is amazing too!!! As for Picses it rocks as well, but adore is amazing.

Tristessa> Actually its the second picture that made my jaw drop. I don't usually sign on to AIM that much but I'll start making it a habit to get on more. I added you to my buddies list also.

ether~twist> It usually takes me a while to really like SPs albums, I didn't like Machina at all the first time I heard it. I'll keep listening to the album to get more of a feel for the songs.

sugarless kisses> Daphne Descends is ok, not a favorite yet but not one I'm going to have to skip over either.



I just listened to PI, so a few more thoughts:

- Most of the songs are good, though its easy to see why a lot of them were bsides.
- Frail and Bedazzled is awesome! My favorite from the cd, this should have been on Siamese Dream
- Starla is way too long.... it doesn't need a 6 minute outro.
- Blue is pretty good too, one of the best on the cd.
- I don't really like the last 3 songs.
- Currently this album is probably at the bottom of the ranking of my SP cds. Definetely going to take some time to like this cd.
- D'arcy looks hot in picture behind the cd, one of the best pictures I've seen of her
- James shouldn't have blond hair
- Billy shouldn't have hair
- Jimmy looks really old in that picture

Congradulations! PI and Adore are both great. About Adore growing on you, that wasn't the case for me - I loved (most of) it instantly. It takes some people a while for it to grow on them though, so give it time :) I can hear you on not liking To Sheila and Once Upon a Time, though..I hated those two for a while. (now I like them, though)
