i'm wondering what the rest of you preggers are craving. for me it's not as simple as "i have to have pickles!" but i do crave those too... it's more like, i know exactly what i want to eat down to every last condiment like 5 hours ahead of time, and nothing else sounds good. lately i've been all over italian food... especially pizza. i made pizza 4 times last week! what is your tummy asking for?

Fajitas (especially mine where the ingredients are flavored with dried chipotle powder), pepperoccinis, pasta, salsa, mashed potatoes, and cranberries have been the most consisten cravings throughout my pregnancy. It sucks because I can't have a lot of what I crave thanks to gestational diabetes. I had a really bad aversion to anything with vinegar or chocolate at first, but now I really do love pickles sprinkled with salt and pepper. I have no idea why.

hahaha !
I'm always craving pasta, that's a given. Add to the list: Ice-cream, Ice water (always thirsty), orange juice, pineapple. No weird combos, just stuff I normally love.
Have to admit I crave things I can't have... cherry coke, for instance.
YES. All these things. PINEAPPLE is so freaking good. I'm drinking orange juice right now. I eat ice cream like at least once a day (usually tcby and usually chocolate). And COKE is my secret indulgence. [post85] IT IS SO GOOD. One day i went out and i had two whole cokes and i felt like such a rebel.

I crave things like oranges, I've gone through bags of them. Now I have little interest in them.. It does seem like I crave something for a week or two and then I don't want it anymore. Now it's watermelon, I can't get enough of it.
Other things I crave which I don't usually eat, pasta, tofu hot dogs(slathered with mustard and ketchup) potatoes very salty and buttery. grape juice. salads, I want one every day. My cravings have been for pretty healthy stuff lately. Anything sugary sounds gross, which is really weird for me, as I've always loved sweets.

I craved hot dogs all through my pregnancy. The more burned they were, the better. I must have eaten a million of them when I was pregnant, which totally disgusts me to think about now. I didn't like hot dogs before I was pregnant, and I DEFINATELY don't like them now. Why I craved them so badly is just one of those mysteries of pregnancy I guess.

I craved Chili Dogs like mad!! This was when I had my girl. [post104]
When I had my son, I wanted things like watermelon, ice water, I ate crushed ice a lot, and it was christmas time when I was about to pop and I was inhaling boxes of chocolate cherries. I was so bad. [post14]

I have been craving mostly spicy foods like Thai or Mexican. The spicer the better but my stomach revolts each time.
The weirdest craving I've had so far is for yellow mustard.

I had really specific cravings early in pregnancy, but now I just seem to want spicy, flavorful foods all the time, too. I swear, I could eat Mexican 3x a day. And the other night when we went out for Chinese food both the waitress and the hostess commented on the fact that we only ordered dishes with stars next to their names on the menu. Hopefully the heartburn won't kick in anytime soon!
Oh, and I never really craved sweets before I was pregnant, but now every time I am at the store I eye cookies, cake, etc.

god bless spicy food! i could eat anything as long as it's smothered in salsa, livened up with jalapenos, or sauteed in curry. and thai food is just the best thing. my oddest cravings include sausage and sushi... i've been a vegetarian for over 13 years. i took care of the sausage one with tofurky links: i made the best pizza ever. sushi, i just had to stare longingly at it. and damn those pickles! it's true. i eat so many pickles. it doesn't even really matter what kind... cornichons, kosher dills, garlic brine. i can eat a whole jar in one sitting. my sweettooth seems to go through phases, this week i love them and next week i'll probably hate sugary things.
saucebox... i'm telling my husband what you said about those damn pickles. he'll probably say it's a pre-preggers craving. ha-rumph.

i feel like a cliche right now. the pickles have taken a turn for the worst. now i eat them in everything. if i'm eating something sweet, i'll follow it up with a pickle. i just made a pickle and tofu creamcheese sandwhich. i eat them in salads, eat them in everthing. around 10 every night i get cravings for pickles and salty cheese. i'm trying not to eat so much junk, but all i crave is salty, fatty, crunchy stuff... with pickles.

is there anyone here who was vegetarian pre-pregnancy but is eating meat now? i used to say that if i craved meat during pregnancy i'd stop being vegetarian...but i really don't think i could do that. i've heard you can get violently ill if you don't re-introduce meat slowly...

i was.
i was lacto veggie.
during my second trimester i started getting huge headaches from lack of protien, plus i started craving chicken.
i ate it for a while, but it was disgusting me so i stopped.
it was my one weird pregnancy craving.
