Did you know what you were having before you actually found out the sex? You know that gut instinct..??
I really feel I'm having a girl but I'm still awaiting another ultrasound! grrr I just want to know!! I'm sooo impatient! ;)

I initially thought she was a boy, but around 8 weeks I became certain she was a girl. Tim did the same thing, but neither of us wanted to say anything for certain one way or the other, just in case we were wrong. Everyone else thought we were having a boy. Every once in a while, it's like it dawns on Tim all over again. He walks around the house, picking up some little girly trinket for Gwen, and he just marvels, "We're having a little girl..."

I knew I was having a boy. It was easy for me to know that because my husband has four brothers and one sister. I just knew that was how it was going to work out.
We had his first name picked out long before I was pregnant, and we settled on his middle name about four months before he was born.
With my first I just knew I was having a girl although I had a dream while pregnant that I had a boy with red curly hair. I did have him, just second. :)

Both my husband and I had a feeling it was a boy. All but one of our friends and/or family said it was a boy also. Turned out to be a boy!

I was right about having a boy.
But, you know, there's 50/50 chance. ;)

I will be pretty shocked if it isn't a girl, because the feeling is soooo strong.
yeah that whole 50/50 thing is the big kicker ;) Dr said the same thing :p
I'm not a mom, but I'll answer anyway. :e
With my daughter, I absolutely didn't want to know until the final moment, so I deliberately chose NOT to think at all about gender. Having said that, I don't know whether I did that because I REALLY didn't want to know or because I was already so certain that the baby would in fact turn out to be female.

With my son I had a gut instinct that it was a boy - I even bought a little romper suit for him to come home in that would have been so unsuitable for a girl! When he came out, the midwife said 'its a boy!' and I just wanted to reply - 'of course it is!'
However with my second pregnancy I was sort of certain it was a girl but daren't listen to those instincts because I wanted a girl so badly and didn't want to be disappointed!
And with my last pregnancy? I lived in Saudi Arabia and I went for my 10 week scan.......................the doctor scanned my tum and boldly said 'you are having a little girl!' I was so angry because I really didn't want to know :-(

EJ, David was the same way... knew we'd have a girl. Then a boy. ;)
I knew I was having a boy with my first son, and a girl with our daughter, but I wasn't sure at all about our youngest son. I kinda wanted a girl because we already had all the clothes. ;l But I love my little red headed buddy to pieces, so it worked out well.

I will be 24 weeks on Saturday. It has been the coolest experience ever. I have waited for this for sooooo long. It took me 7 years to get pregnant and honestly I didn't believe I could get pregnant since I have Cushing's disease. So it was a complete shock that totally rocked my world. :)
I was just curious if that strong instinct really holds true. I've had dreams for years that I was going to have a little girl. I even saw her face years before she/he was even conceived. I swear though I will be happy either way. I'm just grateful to be having a child of my own. :)

Yes I am feeling a mini acrobat in my belly right about now! ;) It's sooooo awesome!
Cushing's disease is usually caused by a tumor in the pituitary gland that causes your body to excrete too much cortisol. Which in turns throws your horomones and everything else you can think of out of whack. Usually it causes infertility amongst sooo many other things. It causes you to gain serious weight also without eating anything out of the norm. I have been to Mayo clinic 4 times and they pretty much think I have it on a cycle which is even harder to diagnose and catch. I've had 2 brain mri's and no tumor, but then again only 50% of them show up and even the smallest one can cause sooo many problems.

I wish I could get in touch with Nic (you mean nic and jethro from here right?) I remember when she used to be on this forum and I always thought she was so neat. I never had a chance to get to know her and feel like I totally missed out.

I was absolutely positive I was having a girl. Didn't help that our dr. essentially told us the same thing because at both of our ultrasounds boy parts couldn't be seen.
My husband however was convinced we were having a boy.
He was right. :)

piano girl! Wow, I wasn't familiar with any of that. Sounds like quite a bit on your plate to deal with. At any rate, even more congrats on being preg! Sounds like you've waited awhile to be a momma :).Yay for mini-acrobat. Kinda reminds you that it really is happening, no? Have you picked out names?
Yes I've waited a looooong time to be a momma! :) It didn't seem real until I started getting kicked. lol I think a part of me was still so in shock that it was real that I couldn't actually grasp it.
For a girl it will be Abigail Rene' and we will call her Abby. For a boy we are still kinda undecided but leaning towards Noah Dale, or perhaps Aiden. I also like the name Darren.
I have had the name Abby picked out since like a week after I found out. It just felt right and still does. ;)
