Ha! I will believe that after Gwen's here.
I can stop taking my meds (the ones to prevent labor) today if I want since I'm now 36 weeks. My peri said I should make use of my money and stay on them until Tuesday since that's when I'll run out. I think I've had enough of the headaches caused by the meds.
TMI warning--Mucus plug lossage is occuring. Lost most of it last Sunday and have been losing more of it yesterday and today. Some regular contractions are happening, and the pressure in my pelvis is driving me nuts. But still only 1 cm dilated and 0% effaced.
We shall see.

Losing the muscas plug was pretty gross. I walked into my doctor one week before Darren's birth at 80% effaced and dilated to a 4. It still took another week before my water broke and I went into labor. We were all very surprsied. My doctor said he didn't plan on seeing me at the following weeks appt. and I missed it by about six hours.
I hope that you have a speedy and safe delivery. My labor was 12 hours. That was mostly because my water broke and I wasn't in actual labor yet. They had to enduce my labor to give me enough contractions to dilate me all the way. But it took 12 hours from the time my water broke to the time I delivered my son.

Still waiting. I'm officially off the meds to stop labor and am free from bedrest. Got more prelabor signs though: tummy disturbances, lots of wetness (not amniotic fluid) down there, no appetite. I had a round of contractions this morning that had me doubled over in pain for a good hour, but they went away. This afternoon I have a doc's appt, so we'll see what she says. I'm thinking there will be loads of sex, walking, climbing stairs, and moving heavy objects to try to get labor going this weekend.

I officially began learly abor yesterday morning. I went to see my doc yesterday and was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced with blood show and contrax 2 mins apart. I got sent to L&D to be monitored and had some slight cervical changes in the first hour but none in the second so I was sent home. Still having regular contrax and feeling like a combination of a bowling ball and glass shards are poking me in my lower tummy and crotch. But I won't be admitted to L&D until the contrax get painful enough that I can't talk through them or my water breaks. Even if I go in for more monitoring, I won't be admitted for delivery until I'm 4 cm dilated. But things are on their way, and I'm gearing up for all kinds of walking, nipple stimulation, sex, and squats. Fun, fun, fun!

Having a slow time here. I had to back to L&D on Saturday because the contractions were 2 mins apart, lasting 60-90 seconds each, and I was doubled over in the pain. Once I got to L&D, they slowed to every 8 minutes. This mucus plug is the most disgusting thing in the world, I swear. I thought I'd already lost a bunch of it, but more just keeps on coming. So now I'm contracting every 4 minutes and have severe back pain. I went for one of my twice weekly NSTs and my nurse says the contractions aren't strong enough that I'd be admitted if I went to L&D. Back at home, hydrating and trying to rest but obviously can't because my mind is swirling and I'm frustrated. It's been 5 frickin' days already. Ugh. I know I should be happy since I'm only 37.5 weeks and anything before 40 weeks is something of a blessing, but this blows.;D

Waiting and wondering......
Went to my doc yesterday. Still 2 cm dilated. They figured out that the medicine I'd been on to stop preterm labor fucked up my uterus a little bit. My uterus got into a habit of making not very efficient contractions because the Procardia lessened the intensity of the contractions for several weeks. They still think I may go into active labor on my own during this upcoming week, but I'm not holding out hope. If I'm still pregnant by Thursday, I'll have an induction set up for sometime the following week. They won't let me go past the 22nd, my due date, because of gestational diabetes which can cause size issues with the baby and early degradation of the placenta, but I can't be induced before 39 weeks because of lung maturity issues, again thanks to GD. If I were induced during my 38th weeks, the perinatologist would want an amniocentesis to check for lung maturity before signing off on my induction. I won't need an amnio if I go in labor on my own before 39 weeks. It's all very tangled up at the moment.

I want to see my baby, too! I can post an ultrasound photo of her face for now.
Her face is center, and she's yawning with one hand over the left side of her face.

Last night we found her heel sticking out of the side of my tummy. Husband tickled it, and she went nuts. Wonder if she's got ticklish feet like her daddy.
I see the face! *dies from cuteness*

Okay. she's in the center. There's a little dark circle in the middle--that's her mouth open in a yawn. You go to the right, and you can see one closed eye (her fist is covering her other eye). You go to the left and you can see her chin. The white circle next to her chin is her other hand balled into a fist.
Does it help if I rotate the pic?

How cute!! A little freaky at first because I wasn't sure what I was looking at. I hope you have this baby soon!!
And yes the whole mucas plug is disgusting!! I thought I lost all of mine... went to the doc dilated to a 4 80% effaced... and I still lost a bunch at home after he checked me... and it took another week before my water broke!!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you see that little girl of your's this week!

Today I have a doctor's appt and we're going to schedule an induction. Two weeks of early labor and no real progress as of yet, so there's some worry that my body won't go into active labor on its own. Plus, my blood sugars have been bottoming out because I have no appetite and have had so many tummy problems.

Well, I have an induction date early next week. There's not much hope that I'll go into labor on my own before then, but that's okay. I got irritated with a family member today because she asked how dilated I was. "2 cm, just like I've been for the last two weeks." Said family member, "That doesn't bode well for a natural delivery. How can they guarantee that the contractions caused by the Pitocin are going to be strong enough to make your cervix dilate? If you haven't changed at all in two weeks, you may not dilate any more and you'll probably wind up with a c-section." Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence. As though I haven't been discouraged enough with my body's inability to progress so far. I'm completely aware of the c-section risk, but I'll take it. I just want my baby to be healthy. I don't care if she comes naturally, by c-section, or by freighter, you know?
I've been booty shakin' like crazy, and while it's been great fun it hasn't produced any astronomical results. I get contractions that really hurt for a few hours but they just stop as usual.
