so i've been visiting some other parenting boards recently and come across some very disturbing stuff. appearently there are some sick people who steal pictures from message boards both from sigs and from general posts. a couple of explotive sites have been recently shut down, but that doesn't mean that they all have. here's a link that i came across that details one such icky situation: http://diaperimages.com/

i don't want to scare anybody, but with so many moms and expectant moms, i thought this was really important to share. if you would like more info about how i came across this, pm me.

Only other parenting board I visit besides this one, you can't see posts unless you register. And you have to be invited to register. (And what you mentioned was a big reason why the board was made that way. Not exactly the same thing as what happened at that site, but the site we used to be at, something did happen along those lines) And also why my LJ is friends-only.

Yeah, I belong to a few cloth diapering communities/forums and over the years we've had our share of freaks. I don't post pictures of my son on-line anymore besides my personal LJ (which is locked). I posted a few here when he was very young and have since removed them.

that's why i brought this up. new mamas like myself who didn't even think about the consequences of those pics, might think twice about posting. this made me never want to put up a pic of my son once he's born. it's just too gross.

This is something I never thought about either. My husband and I have decided to remove all the pictures we have posted of my son and to take our website offline.

It is so sad that sharing a picture can turn into something so sick. But for the sake of my child and the other family members and kids I have posted on my website I'll be taking them down and keeping them for family only.

I've been known to post pictures of my kids, but I typically remove them after a short period -- and it's for just this reason.

ej- i thought about doing that when the little mono arrives, but the whole issue just creeps me out. anyways, i hope that this info gets to those who need to know... i was certainly one who did.
