This evening I'll find out for sure if I'm going to have a baby. My boyfriend and I both both have had a "feeling" that I may be pregnant, but have waited to see.
The time has come to take the drug store test and see if we're right. I feel super calm about it, but I'm also nervous.
For anyone who reads this, I just wanted to share. I'm anxious to do it, but I promised Mike I'd wait until he came home from work. Thank you for reading. :)
where'smyhalo?

:) Thanks. We were not trying, but we are both kind of hoping for a positive result. If it isn't we'll be ok. We have plenty of time to start a family.
Thank you for your response!

You are here! :) I am waiting, too. Mike is making his way home now.
eeep! Do you need to pee yet?

I'm drinking some water now.
not too much because you don't want to dilute the HGC or whatever it is. Is it possible to dilute? I dunno! ;l
How long has it been since you thought you were maybe pregnant?

Well, Mike has been joking about it since the point of possible conception. I have been brushing it off, because I've been told I'd have a realy difficult time conceiving.
Then my body began doing some seriously funky things lately and I began to keep the idea back in my head.
I'm about a week late, and we've been discussing it seriously all week. I've wanted to give it time to see if maybe I was late due to stress.
Are you normal regular?

Be sure you're doing it at least a few hours from your last trip to the bathroom. You may get a false negative if you're not!

or wait until the first pee in the morning - the hormones will be most concentrated.

[stork] I remember that excited wondering! I had a whole army of various pregnancy tests lined up across the bathroom sink when I was testing. Just make sure you've not peed for a couple of hours before you do it. Good luck!

Oh, yeah, I was nuts starting from about 3 days past ovulation until I took my test at 14 days past ovulation. I was insanely hungry and scarfed down this giant mushroom and swiss burger only to be cursing myself for eating such crap two hours later. And because I had a lot of implant spotting I was dead certain that I was pregnant but that it wouldn't stick, so I turned into this raving lunatic. Husband just kept patting my head and saying, "Will you just chill? You cannot possibly stay like this for your whole pregnancy. I'm moving into the guest room if you keep acting this way."

;l
I was certain I was knocked up and wanted to wait until I missed a period before running out to buy a test. He was too curious so we headed out one night at 11 pm for Krispy Kreme and a test. We come back and decide I'll whiz on the stick the next morning.
Well, I got too anxious so I took it that night. He kept saying I barely peed on it enough to wet the darn thing and that I probably wasted it. ;K Not so!
Krispy kreme and a pee test...now that's my idea of a fun night! lol

come on and wee!!!!
See with me, I knew I was pregnant for two weeks, because with all my periods I had never, NEVER had tender breasts. Ohh the burning nipples. Then one day I went to work, and before I work, I threw up in my bathroom and then in the bathroom at work. My friend for three weeks prior kept telling me that I was knocked up because I was just green(but didnt throw up, I made myself not throw up). Well after I threw up at work I came home that day and was talking to my then friend/landlord and she said to take a test. The next day(my day off) I went to Walgreens and picked up a generic test, came home while Andres was still sleeping. As I wee'ed on the stick both lines came up.
I was pregnant, like woah.

*sigh* It was negative.
I would have posted last night, but I was really, really sad about it. I saw the results, and I just started crying. I swear we weren't trying, but when you come to the realization that you are very much ready to be a mother... to find out you're not going to be one yet is a disapointment.
Mike and I spent the evening alone together. We agreed that it will happen, just not this time.
When I came here this morning and read this thread, you ladies made me really feel good. When my time comes to be a mommy, I can't wait to visit ya'll again. What a wonderful support unit you all are!
oh... and Krispy Kreme and preggy tests... omg that's great. :)
Awww, Shannon. I'm so sorry love. [hugs]
It will happen, and when it does you will be a wonderful mum.

ha! I see people who try, and have been trying for years. I don't want that simply because that could really take the fun out of the hump.
:)
A whole month?!?! I love it.

See, I knew exactly when I ovulated, when to have sex, and what crazy supplements to take. Fortunately, I got pregnant the first month trying but I can see how being so methodical about every month would take the boom-chicka-boom-boom out of one's love life. Just keep at it. It will happen!

No, we just had sex every other day which my doctor recommended because my chances at conception were so astronomically lousy that we would take anything we got. I just charted my temps and used an ovulation predictor kit. Shettles, IMO, isn't an accurate gender selection. According to the Shettles method, you stop having sex 3 days prior to ovulation to get a girl. If that were true, my sister should be having a girl since she and her husband last did the deed 4 days before she ovulated--she's very definitely having a little boy. And according to Shettles, I should be having a boy, but 4 ultrasounds have shown girl parts. I've known some people it's worked for, but most who have tried haven't had success.

oh... and Krispy Kreme and preggy tests... omg that's great. :)
See my "early pregnancy test?" thread....
I took the test on Friday night and I'm not pregnant. Husband and I were NOT trying, but would have fine if I had been pregnant. Its best if I become pregnant between Sept/Oct because then I get more time off work (I work for the school system) so in that way - it would have been good "timing"
However - we're also going to Amsterdam for a week in November so in that way - bad timing!
But still..... I found myself playing "Cooling" over and over on the piano and having tears come down my face. I'm ready to be a mother and I'm sure I'll be a good one. But its not the right time financially fo rme and husband. Next year, we'll be all set. That will be one more year of two full incomes.
For us - my income is pretty good and it'll burn when I take time off. After that, I'll probably only return to work 60% of the time... which will be a paycut. It won't kill us, but it'll put a damper on sushi.
and I love sushi soo.... ;)
but anyway - I can totally identify what you're feeling right now. When I was sad, my husband kept saying "its okay, we could have done it if we needed to" which almost made it worse! For us though, the best part was that he said he wasn't very worried what the results would have been either way.
So, in a sense, husband learned he is ready to be a father. For him, thats an enormous step :)
