I haven't been able to acess much info on Bjork lately, I've been really busy trying to get the hell out of college as fast as I can. But some of you have to know something about the new album she is working on. Singles, anything? Has anyone heared about what the texture of the new album will be like. Or is she keeping stuff under wraps until the release? I'd be grateful for any info...am getting very impatient waiting on this new cd. You know how it is guys..i'm a bit excited i guess. Or as my boyfriend gently puts it....I've got my panties in a wad.

I know she's working on an indie movie and she has some music on the soundtrack of Dancer in the Dark.

I thought I read that the movie whould be here in October, and that her new album would be here around September. But see, I could have the months all wrong. I know the name of one of her new songs is "Sod Off" it can only make me wonder. I haven't read anything on the new indie movie. Last I read, Bjork was saying she was throwing in the towl with acting. Some critics gave her a really horrible review, Time magazine ripped her to shreads. But fuck them who cares. Apparently the film was extremely draining for her. The director, Lars van whatever gave her a hard time and said she was immature and unprofessional. la di fuckin da. anyway you can't tame her so there! But a new film, that would be interesting. Thanks for your help guys.

sorry to break the bubble, but bjork is DEFINATELY not working on another movie. In fact she had such stressfull situations on this past one, she has said she will never act again.
This is what we can expect though.
- Soundtrack to Dancer in the Dark released in Sept. called "SelmaSongs", 8 new songs 1 of them "Ive seen it all" is a duet with Thom Yorke from Radiohead other tracks include "Cvalda" "In the musicals" Pt 1 and 2, "New World" 107 Steps" "Overature" "Smith and Wesson" "Next to Last Song" . In the musicals should include covers of Climb Every Mountain, So Long Farewell, and My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music.
- Release of Dancer in the Theatres in early Oct.
- Live Album From the Concert with the Brodsky Quartet released ASAP, probably soon. This concert included a cover of Petula Clarks "Downtown", my fingers are crossed that it will make the album
- EP done with Alec Empire and the Brodsky Quartet released before the end of the year, all songs reworked. songs include "April" aka all neon like "Sod off" "Joga" "Five Years"
- Song (duet with GUS GUS) released on the internet soon called "Its not up to you"
- Bjorks own complete next album released in the spring 2001
This songs should include : ( copied and pasted from http://www.bjork.mmedia.is )
*A yet untitled song based on a poem by E.E Cummings.
*Lost Keys - a song recorded during the DITD filming period!
*A Different Kind Of Love - a song recorded during the DITD filming period!
-Other misc. songs that should be released within the next year
*Inside - recorded nov 99 with Sam Zaman of the group 'State of Bengal'
*A Prayer For The Heart - a collaboration with british composer John Tavener.
*Jericho or The Boho Dance - a cover song for a Joni Mitchell tribute album!
So in short, Bjork had beed a very very busy bee. Its going to be a very Bjorkish year :)

couple more things...
"Sod Off" Is a b-side from the Joga single, so its not new. Should be interesting to see how the Brodskys and Alec Empire rework them.
Lars von Trier and Bjork had their troubles during the movie. But at the premier at Cannes, They seemed to have made up, and Bjork kissed him on the cheek. Lars said that Bjork was the only one who could have played selma and even though they had their troubles, he really wouldnt have had it any other way, & is happy with the results.
Critics are divided over the movie. I imagine that the US critics are going to hate it, which was anticipated. European audiances, it seems have much different taste in films, so the marketing techniques and the press here in the US i expect to be minimal. Will probably be in most independent theatres. It did win at cannes though and had a 10 minute standing ovation. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
