Hi

Would like your opinions on this one. I have an 8 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. When I am bathing Adam, my son, its not unusual for Amy my daughter, to come in the bathroom and help me, and to be honest I dont really have any qualms about sparing his modesty in front of her.
My husband thinks this is wrong, and the lad should have his privacy. I have been thinking about whether I am adopting different standards, as there is no way that I would allow, or my daughter would allow the lad access to the bathroom when she is bathing.
I suppose I have always thought that boys are less modest than girls, and subconciously treated them totally differently. Am I unusual in this, and should I alter my mindset. The lad himself has no hangups over his sister being present.

I can kind of see where your husband is coming from since your daughter is older. And everyone needs their privacy. My son surprised me last year by not leaving the door open when he was in the bathroom. He shut it one day and I asked him why and he said because he didn't want me to see him. He is also starting to take showers more and not baths and doesn't want me near when he is in the shower unless he needs my help. I say in another year or two your son may start to tell you he is uncomfortable with others seeing him. Even his mommy. One more sign they are growing up. [blue]

Each of my kids suddenly required privacy in their own time. This followed their ability to bathe on their own. I never even attempted to introduce the proverbial fig leaf in my house. It just happened.

eh, i think your husband is uncomfortable for no reason really. I mean he does have his reasoning, whatever it is, but seriously they are doing no harm
