My son is ten today and yes it is his special day, but when he hit the door after school he was ready to open his gift. he threw a fit when I suggested we wait for averyone else. So we eventually let him open his gift. He then proceeded to throw a fit because it wasn't what he was wanting. Little did he know my husband has the other part of his gift which is exactly what he wants, however Im thinking of returning all of it after what he just pulled. any suggestions?[pan]

I would suggest not giving in to him again. You allowed him to open a present because he threw a fit. 10 year-olds shouldn't be rewarded for throwing toddler tantrums.
I imagine you gave him the present yesterday to calm down his tantrum, but I won't assume. What was the outcome?

the outcome was he did not get to have it last nite and I put it in my van to return it. After he went to scouts he had a huge change of attitude when he learned how lucky he was to receive a gift.
