There is a big difference between GOALS and WISHES. You can say, "I want to be thin," but unless you are living the lifestyle today that will lead you to your goal, then wanting to be thin is just a wish.
So I ask myself, what did I do TODAY that will help me reach my goal a month or a year from now? It also helps to break down my goal into small bites. For example, if I don't reach my goal of 160 pounds by the end of the month, it is much less likely that I will reach my goal of 140 by the end of June.
Like yesterday: I ate three normal meals (1800 calories total) and didn't work out (I was sick). That is really great and nice, but it's not quite enough to get me to my goal. If I had worked out intensely for half an hour (300) that would have put me on track.
Each day is like a representation of your entire life. You can't sit on your buns and eat bon-bons today, and think about being the svelte belle of the Christmas ball by the end of the year.
So ask yourself at the end of each day, did what I do today get me closer to my goal? Was it enough? What could I have improved?
