OK, I already had a pretty nice tan going but I was in the pool way too long today and I am hurting big time. I put some solarcaine on it but it's just not cutting it. Does anyone know of anything that will help it besides aloe of course??????

I've always heard that a paper towel dipped in cold milk helps...I've never tried it because I don't really like milk. But yeah, I'm definitely open to some suggestions myself, being a fairskinned and freckled redhead that burns VERY EASILY!

There's this stuff, sorry, don't know what it is called, but it's a blue gel, it's cool. You could probably get it in a drugstore or K-mart/Walmart. You can find it in the tanning lotion/sunblock section. I used it yrs ago, it's soothing. I think they still make it, but I'm not sure.

Darling One, I too, am the new owner of a bitch of a burn! Thought to myself :" it is just mini golf and it really is not too hot out....I never burn....."

well hell no! I am soooo sore....I didn't think it would get this bad....so I called my Nana (who knows everything about everything and everyone) and she said to put vinegar, just plain old white vinegar, on the burn every few hours....

and you know what? it works.....very well.....cools me down sooo much....takes the stinging away....only problem is: I smell like a douche...:) BUT I am not sore.....

TRY IT OUT!

Being a fairskinned redhead, I feel like an EXPERT on sunburn. The only advice I can give that isn't already here is to take a hot shower. I know that sounds weird, but I have a hot shower and it seems to batter all the heat out of my skin. It is incredibly painful at the time, but afterwards I feel a lot better. Combine that with some solarcaine and aloe, and hopefully you will feel better :e

I know this sounds insane, and it stinks like hell.. but vinegar will do the trick. It has something to do with the acid in it. Tea will aslo work as it contains the same acid as found in the vinegar. It really takes the sting out of the sunburn.

What works well for me is Tea Tree Oil gel... it smells strong but the scent goes away fast once it's on your skin. And it's natural. You can probably find it at some kinda health store (I got it from vitamins.com). It's also really good for bug bites or minor scratches.

Well, you already got your thing to help. But I just wanted to share too. I use this stuff that I got from Bath and Body Works. It's a shower gel and it's got oatmeal in it. Oh it feels so good. 'Course, I don't usually burn. But I use this stuff after I have spent any amount of time in the sun cause it makes my skin silky smooth :) But it does make sunburns feel better too. hehe :)

:) I feel much better today. Thank God I am one of those people who's burns turn to a tan like in a day or 2. I think I am going to peel of my face though and I hate that because it looks like I have some disease or something with skin flakes all over. lmao. I still have to get showered today and I know that is when the peeling will begine. GRRRRRRRR!!!! anyways thanks again for all the advice and I would have never used ben gay cuz it just doesn't sound right. lol.
