Yeah. Gaydar. It's fun, especially when it works. It's even more fun when other people who you've picked up have no idea, and then run away screaming when their gaydar gets a kick. (Alright, so said person just doesn't like me...I'll admit that I'm annoying.)

Okay, random message, this is turning into. I think I'll go back to my nap now.

Gaydar...
I guess I don't have one or it doesn't work, I can never find out who is gay and who not, but hopefully my gaydar will work someday! ;F

Gaydar...

I think mine is broken. And then I've been told that others never seem to know I'm gay. It's said to be a good thing. *shrug*

I hate when my gaydar plays cruel jokes on me and I think that someone is gay :o It works sometimes, and then it is like "Muwhahahaha, this person IS gay... *snicker giggle laugh spit*"

I'll have to admit my gaydar is overactive.......I've thought people were gay and weren't..or maybe i was just hoping.lol

I find it so very hard to distinguish between wishful thinking and actual blips on the gaydar screen.

BTW, I normally hate that term. "Gaydar." I don't know why, it just sets me teeth on edge. I will admit that you can normally tell if someone's gay, not because o any mannerisms or anything, nor because of any mystical power. . . just . . . . you can. I'm not entirely sure how or why or what triggers it.

Evan, maybe the people who are surprised when they find out you're gay just simply think that gay folk are all effiminate lisping types. You could simply not fit their idea of what gay is. Or maybe I'm a moron who needs to stop presuming things about other people's lives. Take your pick.

mine is perfection. i have not been wrong yet. in fact, i have a few works in progress, as we speak. i have these two boy friends that are soooooooooo gay, and they don't know it yet. they will. i think one of them is actually starting to come around. :)

TheDutchPsycho

I have one.
But i dont talk about it much to s0meone other than tasha cuz straight peeps always when you talk about it... ask the question: "How do you know that? its not true, common explain it i really want to know"

So how Do you really Explain Gaydar to someone not gay.

Mine kinda half-works...

Sometimes I find it incredibly easy to tell.
Sometimes I'm clueless... I think, actually I've never met someone who I found out to be gay that I didn't suspect before hand...
but just cuz I don't know, doesn't mean they aren't

And I've been told by people that they'd have never guessed that I am. Even though I'm probably the most effeminate member of the cast... (but we're all pretty adrogynous)

There's this guy at the coffee house who I just always knew was gay. And he's apparently been wanting to talk to me, and it's really cute watching him try to come up with a conversation without sounding like he's hitting or something. :) Yesterday we ended up in a really nice conversation about how frustrating it is when you ink a drawing and it ends up losing -something-

Well, I'm going off on tangents... so I'll stop

I'm thinkin' all that pounding in your head might interfere with the reception. Yeah, my gaydar blips like mad. Found out yesterday that I had another hit. Still on a perfect score...I love my gaydar, although help my love life, it has not...

Well, I know one time my 'Gaydar' has deviated...

and damn that guy was adorable. But after... (how long was I swooning over him? ah, five months) I'm pretty sure he's straight, oh well. I can still stare.

Straight guys often give off the wrong signals, perhaps without even knowing it, and that can throw the ol' gaydar into a state of confusion....;L

my gaydar works on one end.

I give it off, but I can't recieve it.

seriously my straight friend can tell more than I can.

I thought for SURE this one girl was gay at a club..so I walked over and started talking and stuff..then I was like umm by chance r u interested in girls (this was a few drinks in I might add) and shes like oh sorry no. I was like beat red I am sure!

so yeah..I have a hard time telling. I find its really hard to tell with girls.

My gaydar works really well...for men- which does me a hell of a lot of good :P

TheDutchPsycho: I tried to explain how gaydar works to one of my straight boy friends once. There's this movie that was put out a few years ago, where there were aliens living on earth but they looked like humans. The cop guys could only tell who were the aliens when they wore special sunglasses. I kind of think of gaydar as built-in, invisible sunglasses. You can just look/study/stare/drool at someone and know whether they're gay or not. I think it's easiest to tell in the face, although what exact qualities there are, I don't know.

I heard awhile ago someone was going to be marketing these pager type things. Whenever you got within range of someone else (gay) that has one, it would start vibrating. So what I want to know is, where are they at?!

Kollins
05-26-2001, 11:26 AM
Ahh! I want one of those pagers. How useful would they be? Incredibly! *lol*

Maybe they'd come with a little headphone. *electronic voice* "Gay male, 3 o'clock, available."<p>

violetSuede
05-26-2001, 10:01 PM
*LOL* no kidding....they should have seperate ones for women, too. Of course, my friends and I are partial to the idea of everyone just wearing nametags with big, bold lettering stating all pertinent information- you know, age, sexual preference, single or not, crazy or sane......hehe
Maybe that would take the fun out of it then, though? Gotta love those dates with really wacked out people.

Gaydar can be a great thing. I've always been able to tune in on it and have never been wrong. Me and my girl are both very in tune with it. lol

sorry to those who don't have the *gift*:e

I think everybody is gay, but if I really try I can usually figure it out.

and btw - violetSuede... that movie is 'They Live' if I'm thinking right. Creeped me out when I was younger...

I dunno if I have a gaydar or not. Or if it exists.

I've always figured that it was less on my end(though some has to be there), and more on the other people being pretty obvious.

Well, anyhow.

I went to a gay club a few months back and some guy said that I wasn't gay. I was like ummm what do you mean. well he basically said that cuz my hair wasn't a certain way and my tongue wasn't pierced and I had a purse, I wasn't gay.

;o I don't know if gaydar is a foolproof thing, but there is one thing i for sure know exists. GAYNAR! thats right the homo equivalent of sonar! you know, when a gay guy deliberately sends out "PINGS" in hopes of getting a little back from the people around them. Gaynar is only to be used as a last measure because you feel lame when you ping and nobody blips back at you! ;o

I know what you're talking about with the 'Gaynar' .. . hehe. Sometimes, I do find myself acting a bit more "gay" in hopes that someone else will pick up on it and do similar.
