just got back from the ER.......sigh

my 3 year old got a splinter underneath her toenail. we couldn't get to it and the on call doc said to take to the ER to get it removed.

Mymy I hate to see how I'd feel if it was life threatening. I would rather go through the pain myself than watch my poor little one.

One minute she is laughing and fine then the next minute they are sticking a needle in her toe to numb it and she is wailing. Ripped my heart out. ouch.

I am so glad she bounces back fast though. my poor little bean.

Parenthood can be so gutwrenching sometimes. AND she is only 3. yikes.

Awwww..... I hate that too! I am not a mother, but I have nephews, and the 1 and a half yr old rips my heart out when he cries and gets hurt!

awww...yeah

thankfully i've never had to bring river to the hospital for anything...i can imagine how scary the hospital would be for a little one

it used to tear my heart out when river would get immunization shots as a baby...


glad it was just for a splinter and not anything worse...

I am glad it all worked out bear. I can only imagine how much it hurts to see a young loved one in pain. They do not understand and it is hard. But they bounce back really well. Glad all is over.

Oh MY! I'm sooo sorry...I hate to hear things like that...I"m off of the forum alot during the weekends, and I miss stuff like this...

I can only *imagine* how hard it must be to be a momma and not be able to comfort or take away the pain of your child...

I get all upset taking my *ahem* babies to the vet...

Nic and Mike, thanks. She is so funny. We had plans to go to the zoo today with her little friends and I was afraid we wouldn't be able to cause of her foot.

She woke up this morning and I said let me see you walk. She was jumping up and down. *See mommy,see see, can we go now!!!*

Bless her heart. Ah to be young again. in body that is.
