I got the remastered Hounds of Love in the mail yesterday (my first Kate album). If I had ten arms I would give this album ten thumbs up! HOLY SHIT this album is amazing! I love the "train ride" in the beginning, and then The Ninth Wave is MESMERIZING! I adore concept albums, so this was a pleasant surprise (I didn't know this was a concept album when I ordered it). I haven't even listened to any of the bonus tracks yet because I didn't want to disrupt the original flow of the album. This is definitely one of my top 5 albums of all time. I can't get enough of it. Kate is a genius. Thank you all Kate people on this board because seeing all those Kate posts finally got me to give her music a try.
I want to wait for the other albums to get remastered before I buy them but I doubt I can be that patient. But it does seem like an easy way to get rare b-sides. The upcoming remastered albums are going to contain b-sides as bonus tracks, aren't they?

Yes, Hounds of Love truly is amazing.. :)
I'm guessing that the yet-to-be-released remastered Kate CD's will contain b-sides as bonus tracks, as with the remastered Hounds of Love... However, there is an 8-CD box-set of all of Kate's work (minus the instrumentals of "Dreamtime", "Running Up That Hill" and "The Sensual World"), called "This Woman's Work: Anthology 1978-1990", which as the title suggests, contains all of Kate's work up till 1990 - with 2 discs of b-sides, live tracks, and 12" versions, which is an easy way to get Kate's b-sides/non-LP tracks.
Kate's albums are generally pretty different from each other. "The Dreaming" is my personal fave, although it's meant to be Kate's least accessible work (it's a bit 'mad'/scary)...

All the cds are going to bring Bsides, that IS for sure...
Hounds is a great album, so many sides to it...
Im really glad we all kate lovers in here could help yu to get this fabulous and revolutionary album
Imagine what this should have been when it was released... If we, in the year 2000 think its great, what people in 1985 would have thought
This is such a timeless record....

hey guys, i'm risking embarassment here...hehe. i love kate bush and "Hounds Of Love" was my first kate record ever. and i fell in love with it. oh my god, it is absolutely genius...
and the dreaming is so perfect, i love it. i play that at work all the time!!!
but i'm risking embarassment only because i am asking someone to explain the whole NINTH WAVE thing to me. please. someone told me, and i plan to go to gaffa.org and read everything i can about Hounds, but i'd still like someone to help me out and tell me something about it. because i forgot since the person who told me, told me before i had even bought the record.
okay, thanks!!!!!!!!

There is probably more to say, but basically TNW is about a woman drowning alone at night in the sea. And the songs are about her thoughts, memories, nightmares etc. It is up to the listener to decide if she is rescued or not, although I think Kate has said yes. There are parallels to the story of Ophelia in Hamlet, and going back further to the Arthurian stories of Elaine and the Lady of Shalott. Gaffa.org has probably more to add.
Yes, the Dreaming is definitely the best! I'm looking forward to the remasters too, but I hope they are "mid-price" or cheaper than new albums. Since I already have the original albums (and most of the b-sides) paying full price isn't that appealing. I'm a student and money is always tight..
