A few days ago I went down to Turtle Bay. Well, not Turtle Bay itself, the meadow they have right across from the Sundial bridge.

I went looking for Mountain Garter Snakes (Thamnophis elegans elegans) and Western Toads (Bufo boreas) - I found my first toad of the season about a week ago, but I've never found one in this particular meadow. Toads are declining here, I'm not sure why but I personally suspect it is a side effect of all the mosquito fish the health department dumps in...

I don't think it is our dependency on foreign oil that is the problem. It is our dependency on foreign materials and goods that is the problem. If we didn't need everything sent in, that would substantially reduce the amount of fuel needed to be produced.
