Hi guys,

Today, the annual Sunday Times Rich List is published. This year, you need at least £40m to get on it.

Tori Amos does not appear in the list.

Considering the wealth of the following people who do appear, and who display a variety of longevity and commercial success, how much do you think Tori is worth (including assets)?

Sting - £175m
Robbie Williams - £78m
Elton John - £175m
Keith Richards - £165m
David and Victoria Beckham - £65m
Madonna and Guy Ritchie - £215m

I appreciate that the Times List is UK based, but it does include other non-Brits who now live here, such as Roman Abramovich, etc.

It's hard to say because we don't know how much she actually earns per album sold (it's usually a pretty small amount), but the touring earns her a lot. However, she reportedly pays Matt Chamberlain a hefty sum each night on tour and she didn't earn as much per night ten years ago as she does now...so, I don't know, I'd say she's earned about $30-$40 million in her career so far--how much of that she actually has (several homes, a live-in chef, expensive clothing, etc.), who knows?

I don't think Tori makes that much money.... she isn't a commercially successful artist anymore. She doesn't even sell out a 5,000 person venue in most places. That is why she spends so much time in Cali and NY, they sell out! Don't get me wrong, she makes more than I will make in my whole life, but she doesn't compete with Madonna (commercially that is) or even Robbie Williams (who if correct me if I am wrong... is the male Britney in England). She can afford multiple houses, a cook, and a nanny.... she makes enough!

Robbie Williams is worlds away from being the male Britney of the UK...a lot of people describe him as a modern mix between Elton John and George Michael but I think he's got a flavor purely of his own. Nothing at all like Britney (I shudder to think that's what a lot of Americans might think of him)

as far as Tori's wealth goes...I agree with ya...she might not be rich enough to live like a stupid flashinthepan hiphop star, but she has the houses, the personal cook, the studio. woman's got it goin' for her and i'm glad she does.

Prehaps you have to be a British citizen? Tori's not, if I remember correctly... she has dual citizenship or somesuch. And she's in America at least half the time. I dunno, maybe a Brit could call them and ask if she was considered?

I think that she actually makes more on her investments. Remember that she got a lot of stock for the mp3's company to do the 5.5 weeks tour. Just a thought.

I guess Tori wants to keep that information private. But i'm pretty sure she's wealthy enough. fuck, can you just imagine 200 shows in one year? and she's still selling world wide.

I've considered this before myself. I mean, I wonder how much her chef and bandmates cost her. Honestly. And we have that report from some time ago talking about her "demands" for one tour stop (I know not where), so we could kinda guesstimate from there. The clothes are probably gifts a lot of the time, and the shoes too. She name drops shoe designers like Britney drops pubic lice, so I mean... Anyway, yeah, it would be fun to know. Absolutely none of my business, but fun nonetheless.

Don't know about Tori, but Alanis sold her stock before it went down and made 40 million...

this says that in April 2000, Alanis sold 100,000 shares of her 300,000+ and only made $1 million. i'm going to doubt the rest was worth much more after time.
