Default Natalie Imbruglia - White Lilies Island

I finally got this album, and it's WAY better than Left of the Middle. I also that the Beauty on the Fire import with some bsides and love it too. She really got better with her second release. Too bad it didn't do well on the charts.

It'd be interesting to see if she got even better with a third.

Not sure which b-sides youre referring to, but generally I love all her b-sides, especially Always Never, Shikaiya, Cold Air, Identify and Contradictions....very solid tracks!

I love Natalie. I'm still surprised That Day didn't become a huge hit...
Does anybody know Diving in the Deep End? I'm not sure if it's a b-side but it's a great song!

I love her too. White Lilies Island is a better album than Left of the Middle, I'll agree... but I really like LOTM too. hehe

I love Natalie's music. I still dont have White Lillies Island yet but I adored Beauty On the Fire and I've heard a couple of other tracks that make me want this album highly. I adored LOTM but I bought it cheap on a tape and need to get the cd of it lol

Theres a song on the GO soundtrack she did and I really love that song too, her b-sides show how creative she can be.

I am the biggest Natalie fan in the world. It's so weird to see this topic. I recently pulled out a B-sides album I made and have been playing it non-stop.

White Lillies Island is a beautiful album. I love every single song on it. It was hard to get into when I first got it, but then it just clicked. Which, is exactly what Natalie said. She said people will listen to it and in a single moment, they'll just "get it." She said it more poetically than that lol but it was something along those lines. It is so amazing. My favorite songs are Sunlight, Hurricane, That Day, and Do You Love.

Don't even get me started on her B-sides. In most cases, they are better than her album tracks. I can't even pick a favorite B-Side. The WLI ones are all amazing and could fit right in with the album....Just Another Day, Shikaiya, Cold Air, Standing There, Always Never, Broken Thread....YUM. I think my favorite non-album track is probably the song she did with Billy Corgan for the Stigmata soundtrack, Identify. If you haven't heard it, you must download it immediately. It is an ESSENTIAL Natalie song. Her vocals, the lyrics, and the video....everything about it. I also really love Something Better, Troubled By The Way We Came Together (the one from the Go soundtrack), and Hide Behind The Sun.

Speaking of videos, Natalie has some good ones. And she always looks gorgeous. I think it's her eyes and her lips...beautiful.

Oh, and about a third album, apparently it is finished and suppose to be released in July...but those are early rumors and I doubt it'll be that soon.

Thumbs up White Lillies!

I'll second that vote - White Lillies is an incredible followup! The aussie tabloids were making quite a fuss about the fact that she'd roped in one of Tori's old producers to work on some tracks, combined with the fact she was dating (now married to) Daniel Johns of Silverchair - the general opinion created before she released WLI was that she was somehow TRYING to be less accessible (though she herself admitted to releasing "That Day" so she wouldn't be forced to try and promote a whole album in the wake of another huge first single).

For what it's worth - I think Track 6 "Goodbye", is one of the most heartbreaking and beautifully resounding songs of loss and regret that has ever been written. Never fails to have my heart swell.

"identify"- recorded for the Stigmata soundtrack, I think is her best vocal. Hope she does some more work with Mr Corgan!

'must spead some rep. around before giving it to yoheaveho'

I love white lillies album.
I used to hike in runyon canyon listening to that cd, looking out over the hollywood hills.
yeah, she is awesome... totally underrated as an artist. funny, kylie's impossible princess totally evokes the same feeling for me. LOTM is great also...totally cool, vibey pop with sweet, simple yet heartfelt vocals. Natalie is good stuff.

Thanks tiny shiver, for trying.

Yeah, I almost love LOTM equally. It's not as mature, but it has some of my fav Natalie songs like Intuition, City, and Smoke.

B-Sides, I'd check Kazaa Lite, Soulseek, and places like that. There aren't any good Natalie sites, unfortunately.

Go there to listen to clips of 4 new Natalie songs! They were leaked over a site that previews album tracks and singles for people to review. I forget the name of the site though...I think it says somewhere in that post.

Clip 1 - Very WLI. It sounds like it could fit right in with the rest of the tracks from that era. Her voice sounds beautiful as always.

Clip 2 - Eh, just your standard pop ballad really. It's pretty but nothing special.

Clip 3 - The best one, by far. It's extremely catchy and an obvious first single. It reminds me of Torn, but with elements from WLI. It also has a style all it's own. Love it

Clip 4 - Very interesting....it's extremely Kylie to me. Impossible Princess-ish. It's dancy, yet it has a rock edge. I don't know. Hard to explain. Her voice sounds a lot different too.

Overall, this just has me excited. I'm dying for some new Natalie!

Thanks for the info YHH - I'd heard whisperings about new stuff, but no titles or confirmation.

^^^ I still stand by my recommendation of 'Goodbye' - I gave it to a friend a few months back, and his mother absolutely adored it. She passed away recently, and requested it to be played at her funeral. Everyone present was in shock after it had finished, and I've never seen waterworks start in such unison. Such an aching, aching song.

'Goodbye'

Everyday's the same
I feel them merge
I try to separate
Resist the urge
But they tell me
I'll be fine
That it will all get better
Just try to write it down
Or put it in a letter
But the words won't play
And there's no
Easy way to say
Goodbye, goodbye

Keep my head on straight
And don't look down
With all I've pushed away
I'm losing ground
But they tell me
I'll be fine
That it will all get better
Just try to write it down
Or put it in a letter

But the words won't play
And there's no
Easy way to say
Goodbye, goodbye

And from the sidelines
Watch me fall down

And I don't understand
The things I do
But I'll probably be fine
As long as I keep moving
I'll try to write it down
So things just keep improving

Still the words won't play
'Cause there's no
Easy way to say
Goodbye, goodbye
