Sheryl Crow's new album titled "Wildflower"

The album will be mellow and she hopes to release a pop album next summer. I'm really excited about the new album

I think the 1st single is a song called "Wildflower" and she's naming the album that too.

Well it was rumored that the song she performed at the Tsunami benefit was called Wildflower.... so, I wonder if that is indeed the new single? It's a really pretty song... with an orchestra and some other instruments, it could really be great.

Ewwww, not mellow.

I wasn't too crazy about the two songs we've heard so far, so if the rest of the album is like that, I'm not sure I'll like it.

I want her to rock out like she used to! *sigh* At least the orchestra thing sounds good.

Hmmm.. Mellow is great as long as she's put her heart in it and doesn't make another crappy album like c'mon c'mon.

I think it'll be okay. Sheryl's definition of "mellow" doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be bad. I think some of Sheryl's best work is her at her most mellow, such as "Home", "The Book", "Riverwide", "Crash and Burn", "Weather Channel".

The pop album next year will probably have some rock on it. She played a new tune last year that sounded quite pop/rock.

as long as it's not like that last album. her first 3 albums are amazing, then that thing is phewey!

"Riverwide" and "Weather Channel" are two of my all time Sheryl favourites.

I'd love an entire album like this.

I did like her last album, but I felt it was much weaker than "The Globe Sessions", which is amazing.

I did like her last album, but I felt it was much weaker than "The Globe Sessions", which is amazing.

Listening to two new songs she's played recently ("Wildflower" and "I Know Why") I got a real Globe Sessions vibe from both of them. Not in terms of lyrics, but musically and production-wise.

"The Globe Sessions" will probably continue to be my favourite Sheryl Crow record, but I'm more than willing to give these new records a chance.

Also, am I the only who didn't really mind "C'mon, C'mon"? I thought it was fun pop/rock with strong melodies and the production was as tight as ever. It was the lame lyrics that let some songs down, and I think they could have edited the tracklist a little too.

Yeah see, that's the problem. I hate The Book and Crash & Burn.

Home is ok, the other two are gorgeous indeed. Let's hope the album is mostly like those.

C'mon C'mon was my first Sheryl album actually. I love it, but it's pretty bad compared to The Globe Sessions and her self-titled one.

Yes, if this album is full of songs like Crash and Burn, Riverwide, The Book, Weather Channel..... it'd probably become my favorite Sheryl album. Those songs are all so nostalgic sounding, and her voice is so fragile, and then sharply gets intense, like Crash and Burn, with pretty verses and then the roaring chorus.

I think some of her mellow non-single material in the past have been great so I am excited for this....
