Here's a link to a new interview where she talks about it http://www.ksdk.com/news/cover_artic...?storyid=78854 The album will be mellow and she hopes to release a pop album next summer. I'm really excited about the new album __________________ The Inner Part of an Animal or Plant Structure | | | 05-05-2005, 02:32 AM | #2 | | @ctive member Join Date: Aug 2002 Posts: 337 | There's an orchestra on every song too! *drools* I was confused because I thought the single was called "Wildflower". | | | 05-05-2005, 04:23 AM | #3 | | Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve Join Date: Jul 2003 Posts: 4,745 | Quote: | Originally Posted by umbongo There's an orchestra on every song too! *drools* I was confused because I thought the single was called "Wildflower". | I think the 1st single is a song called "Wildflower" and she's naming the album that too. __________________ The Inner Part of an Animal or Plant Structure | | | 05-05-2005, 06:19 AM | #4 | | @ctive member Join Date: Aug 2002 Posts: 337 | Quote: | Originally Posted by BeulahLand I think the 1st single is a song called "Wildflower" and she's naming the album that too. | Ah, I get it now, lol. It's a really pretty song... with an orchestra and some other instruments, it could really be great. | | | 05-05-2005, 11:03 AM | #6 | | cloudbouncer Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 4,195 | Ewwww, not mellow. I wasn't too crazy about the two songs we've heard so far, so if the rest of the album is like that, I'm not sure I'll like it. I want her to rock out like she used to! *sigh* At least the orchestra thing sounds good. __________________ I joke about trash 'cause it takes class to be enlightened Last edited by Cloudwalker : 05-05-2005 at 11:06 AM. | | | 05-05-2005, 11:52 AM | #7 | | suck me beautiful Join Date: May 2002 Posts: 2,358 | Hmmm.. Mellow is great as long as she's put her heart in it and doesn't make another crappy album like c'mon c'mon. __________________ He talks to mother earth to father sky Self indulgence to self denial Man to woman Scales to feathers You and I Eagles in the sky | | | 05-05-2005, 12:37 PM | #8 | | @ctive member Join Date: Aug 2002 Posts: 337 | Quote: | Originally Posted by Cloudwalker Ewwww, not mellow. I think some of Sheryl's best work is her at her most mellow, such as "Home", "The Book", "Riverwide", "Crash and Burn", "Weather Channel". The pop album next year will probably have some rock on it. She played a new tune last year that sounded quite pop/rock. | | | 05-05-2005, 01:38 PM | #9 | | like all things spanish..it is DANGEROUS Join Date: Jul 2001 Posts: 7,792 | as long as it's not like that last album. her first 3 albums are amazing, then that thing is phewey! | | | 05-05-2005, 02:10 PM | #10 | | Rising On The Wings of the Sun Join Date: Jul 2000 Posts: 20,257 | Quote: | Originally Posted by umbongo I think it'll be okay. I did like her last album, but I felt it was much weaker than "The Globe Sessions", which is amazing. __________________ Like Icarus, ascending... | | | 05-05-2005, 03:06 PM | #11 | | @ctive member Join Date: Aug 2002 Posts: 337 | Quote: | Originally Posted by LaddyOwen "Riverwide" and "Weather Channel" are two of my all time Sheryl favourites. Not in terms of lyrics, but musically and production-wise. "The Globe Sessions" will probably continue to be my favourite Sheryl Crow record, but I'm more than willing to give these new records a chance. Also, am I the only who didn't really mind "C'mon, C'mon"? I thought it was fun pop/rock with strong melodies and the production was as tight as ever. It was the lame lyrics that let some songs down, and I think they could have edited the tracklist a little too. | | | 05-05-2005, 03:12 PM | #12 | | cloudbouncer Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 4,195 | Quote: | Originally Posted by umbongo I think it'll be okay. I hate The Book and Crash & Burn. Home is ok, the other two are gorgeous indeed. Let's hope the album is mostly like those. | | | 05-05-2005, 03:14 PM | #13 | | cloudbouncer Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 4,195 | Quote: | Originally Posted by umbongo Also, am I the only who didn't really mind "C'mon, C'mon"? I love it, but it's pretty bad compared to The Globe Sessions and her self-titled one. __________________ I joke about trash 'cause it takes class to be enlightened | | | 05-05-2005, 05:31 PM | #14 | | Gaga ooh la la Join Date: Jul 2002 Posts: 8,649 | Yes, if this album is full of songs like Crash and Burn, Riverwide, The Book, Weather Channel..... it'd probably become my favorite Sheryl album. Those songs are all so nostalgic sounding, and her voice is so fragile, and then sharply gets intense, like Crash and Burn, with pretty verses and then the roaring chorus.
