I've only heard one or two songs but love them. Any song suggestions? | | | 11-02-2005, 12:29 AM | #2 | | a buzzin' 3-star hotel Join Date: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,315 | I love 'Beast of Honor' __________________ i'd rather pick up right where we left makin' out to faces of death | | | 11-02-2005, 02:08 AM | #3 | | @ctive member Join Date: Mar 2005 Posts: 164 | answers.com will probally help brighten the light bulb to who exactly she is for people. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?...ethod=2&gwp=13 probally most memorable from hole. i can't recall if i enjoyed her solo stuff. seeing the documentary of her during the greatest canadian bit didn't impress me so much. i will try her again. Interested to see where she goes on her newest release next year | | | 11-12-2005, 06:44 PM | #5 | | Got my mom stitch Join Date: Jul 2003 Posts: 1,402 | I liked her from the moment she joined Hole in 1994, and I really enjoy her Auf der Maur CD. It's arena rock in the Danzig sense of the word, but it's got a sense of humor that doesn't come off as being self-depreciating in any way. It's like she rocking out but not taking herself too seriously but not mocking rock either. She's got a great version of "You Can Ice Skate to This" on one of her singles and her Hand of Doom (Black Sabbath cover band) is a lot of fun to listen to. It's surprising how well a lot of the Black Sabbath songs translate to a female vocalist. I think she seems like an interesting person from the interviews I've read over the years. | | | 12-12-2005, 05:17 PM | #6 | | 10 items or less Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 12 | I thought she was in Sonic Youth back in the day. __________________ And then I went over to the concession stand to get some tea and I ran into Fiona Apple, and I was like, Who do you think you are, Fiona Snapple? | | | 12-13-2005, 10:50 PM | #7 | | you're shining like the brightest star Join Date: May 2000 Posts: 8,204 | I absolutely love her solo cd. I was really psyched, and then it worse thin VERY quickly. I think that musically the album's very, very good in places. But the vocals and the lyrics simply couldn't gel with me. There seemed something lacking and I was really sad that it didn't blow me away... | | | 12-17-2005, 07:37 PM | #10 | | the one and only H.Lo Join Date: Sep 2001 Posts: 12,338 | She was great at Curiosa last year. I agree that her lyrics and vocal talents aren't the best, though hah. | | | 12-21-2005, 11:50 PM | #11 | | gimme gimme some truth Join Date: Jul 2001 Posts: 50,486 | One point of discussion has been absent from this thread: she is fuckin' HOT. I think that she's a better backup singer than lead singer, but that being said, I enjoyed her CD and I look forward to what she does next. And I'd be VERY interested in hearing Hand of Doom, if anyone knows where to get that stuff. If you don't want to order online, your best bet of finding it is at Borders or record stores that sell a lot of eclectic music. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=music | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -4.
