Going to the David Letterman show ...

Has anyone ever been to the David Letterman show before(in the audience, I mean)? My friend just got a call from a woman saying that he would have to answer a trivia question for tickets. He had to call this guy named Brad and leave a voicemal. Then, Brad called him back and asked him, "Who is Rupert?" Of course, my friend and I both know that Rupert works in the deli. So Brad said that my friend and I will be on "Brad's Gold List", and we have to tell them that when we go to get our tickets. We are going to be on the show on Thursday, November 11th, and we have to pick up our tickets at 2:00pm, and then come back for the taping an hour or two later, I think.

I was just curious if anyone here has done this before, and if this process sounds "legit". Ha! I hope it all goes OK.

you have to answer a trivia question and you get tickets but you gonna wait a while if you don't have them.

word of advice .. ask if you can sit in the balcony the first two rows are the best seats of the house.

He tapes two shows on Thursdays, so make sure you show up for the right one.

I've been to two tapings of his show, but I did standby both times and had to answer a trivia question. I've never heard of this "Brad's Gold List" thing, but I'm sure it's fine. I know of people who've requested tickets in advance and have had to answer a question over the phone from a Late Show staffer.

bah you'll never get a good guest... best show ever was Melissa Ethridge and Madonna on the same show.

Tip:
The usher kids will come around while you wait in line to get into the theatre and talk to you, asking you questions and stuff. Be really nice to them, because if they like you, they will give you really good seats.

i think the main guest is going to be ted koppel if we are sitting in on the second show recorded on thursday. the first show will most likely have steve martin. i would much rather see that one, but i think we are in the audience for the second one. i looked up the guests on Yahoo! TV listings for that day. I don't know how accurate that is. later,

This was a couple of years ago, but I'm fairly sure that the 2nd taping on Thursday starts at about 5 or 6pm. The first is obviously earlier, but I forget what time.

Yeah, it's a poorly kept secret that they tape Friday's show on Thursday.

But if you do go to the Thursday taping then that's the best day cuz you get a chance at playing "Know Your Current Events aka KNow Your Meat." That would so rock.
