Infraction System

These are all rules that we've enforced before and this way we have a clear system of consequences that everybody can refer to and will be enforced uniformly.

How it works:
You break a rule and an admin or a supermod will send you an infraction. You get a PM that will reference the post in question and a note from the person who issued the infraction. We see a notation on your user profile that will help us keep track, other users won't be able to see them.

If you get 3 infraction points in three months you will be banned for three months. Once you've been banned for infractions once, any three over the course of a year will mean you're banned for one year or depending on the severity permanently.

There are four kinds of infractions.

Warnings
These are PMs to let you know if there is a problem. They do not count against you. If we ask you to change something within x amount of time and you don't, then there might be consequences. Warnings will be sent out for things like posting a thread in the wrong forum (we'll move it for you, no big deal) or having a signature that's too big or too graphic (in which case we will ask you to change it within 24 hours of the next time you sign in).

1 point infractions

Abusing the dot system- This covers things like posting tubgirl in dots and red dot harrassment. Spreading your dots around so you can red dot a person repeatedly is overkill, once is enough with the right sentiment

Death wishes- Since this seems to be the unofficial line of too mean from now on you can't wish any sort of death on someone outside of TMP and the main section of OIT (don't abuse it in OIT). For users that are more sensitive to that kind of thing, that's cool no judgement here... just use the flame free portion of OIT. If you've got an interesting topic going people will flock to it, promise.

Spamming- If you've got something special going on that you want to tell us about, run it by an Admin first. Most things we're going to say okay to but just let us know before you go posting it all over the forums. Use the Bitch at the Admins forum and we'll do our best to give you an answer within 24 hours. Likely sooner.

Graphic Images- Nothing too dirty or too offensive outside of The Money Pit.

2 point infractions

Ignoring a mod or admin request- Pretty self explanatory. Most things are covered by this infraction list but if a mod or an admin asks you to do something please do it. If you don't agree with the request then take it to the Bitch at the Admins forum or use the report post function and we'll talk about it but you'll get better mileage out of us if you comply first and then come argue about it.

Hate Speech- We all know it when we see it so I'm not going to make a list here. Let's just say that there is a difference between our normal snark and the over the top racism/sexism/homophobia etc.,

Trolling- It's rare that one of our regular users has a mental breakdown and turns into a troll but it happens. We define trolling as posting deliberately provocative messages with the intention of causing disruption.

Breaking the MP3 rules or posting illegal content- We're always on the lookout for people who aren't abiding by our MP3 rules, this covers even the sneaky requests that you think you're going to get past us. If it will get us in trouble with the law or the RIAA don't even think about posting it.

Miscellaneous
If at any point you do something that we've got a problem with but isn't on this list we reserve the right to send you an infraction for it. This will only be used when more than one supermod or admin agrees to it and you will be given an explanation and this list will likely be updated.

People with less than 100 posts will be automatically banned for most of these infractions.

If at any time your behavior violates multiple infraction rules or you allow a banned user to post under your username you will be banned immediately

An infraction can be issued by any admin or supermod. If you have a problem with an infraction please post a thread in the Bitch at the Admins forum and we will consider your side of the story. Currently there are 5 active supermods and admin so in the case of a dispute you'll have to get 3/5 to agree with you before the infraction is removed.

If you have been a problem in a specific subforum the moderator may request that your access to that forum be revoked. You will be asked to change your behavior before that happens but if it comes to that we will send you an infraction to make you aware of the situation.
