Random PJ News In searching the internet for information on a rumoured Smashing Pumpkins tribute album (featuring PJ Harvey's version of "Tonight, Tonight"), I came across some sites that confirmed the information, and gave this tracklist: 01.1979, New Order 02.Love, Filter 03.Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Placebo 04.33, R.E.M. 05.Crestfallen, The Human League 06.The Everlasting Gaze (instrumental interpretation), The Aphex Twin 07.Beautiful, Missy Elliot 08.Tonight, Tonight, PJ Harvey 09.Take Me Down, Ric Ocasek 10.Ugly, Chris Cornell 11.Luna, Tricky feat. Beth Gibbons 12.Sweet,Sweet, Robert Smith 13.Tristessa, Nick Cave feat. Orbital 14.Perfect, Johnny Marr & Simon Le Bon 15.With Every Light, Depeche Mode However, with this I found that Johnny Marr reportedly denied there being a tribute album, claiming the rumour is "total nonsense". _____________________ yeah well it's a really kickin' site. have fun! | | | 02-12-2001, 12:39 AM | #2 | | R.E.M. rocks my socks. Those are two of my favorite artists, though. Do they like each other? What other artists does Polly like? | | | 02-12-2001, 08:22 PM | #10 | | clique outkast Join Date: Apr 2000 Posts: 9,690 | eh, i couldn't really picture polly singing "tonight, tonight" anyway... | | | 02-12-2001, 11:40 PM | #11 | | the sky is falling in Join Date: Feb 2000 Posts: 1,519 | Quote: Originally posted by ydwibe i have yet to find a site officially denying the rumour, except for a mention of johnny marr denying it at a cure website. | i heard an official denial from an email my brother got from one of his synth-pop mailing lists (they first sent an email with the track list and later another one denying it). but, yes, it would be more than awesome. btw, your site is very beautiful. Chambermaid - I have not heard polly say that she is a fan of the pumpkins, but it is possible. i really wish that tori and the pumpkins (er, just billy i mean) would do something together or that one of them would make a good comment about the other. but i guess this discussion would belong on the sp forum... | | | 02-13-2001, 08:30 AM | #12 | | @ newbie Join Date: Dec 2000 Posts: 41 | i heard about polly doing a tribute album for the pumpkins a while back on nme.com..i think she's really doing a song....it seemed reliable info..but who knows | | | 02-13-2001, 08:06 PM | #13 | | Posting Bot Join Date: Aug 2000 Posts: 8,436 | I think that Flood has worked with Smashing Pumpkins. Other than that, I don't think there's a connection, and as far as I know she isn't a fan. Miss Harvey is a fan of Will Oldham, Dirty Three, and Giant Sand to name a few bands. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -4.
