let's face it; with all the maynard fans around here, we need a maynard forum. and if you don't like maynard, please vote for one because it will keep us mjk fans from posting about him in all the other forums. so please please please vote yes for a maynard forum. thank you.

AAH! This really pisses me off. Maynard is NOT a solo artist. Maynard is in two bands, Tool and A Perfect Circle. These bands are not simply a bunch of backing muscians hired to augment Maynard oh-my-god-he's-so-cute James Keenan's "genius". Credit where credit's due, this really pisses me off.

ahh..very true dozey. I would like to see a Tool forum myself. Maynard is very beautiful...but we can't make a forum about just that. The other members of Tool are just as important to the band as he is. Just imagine Tool without that AMAZING drummer...I'm all for a Tool forum...

This has nothing to do with tori..and someone tried to get a maynard forum before...just go to other musical artist like we need another forum that no one posts in

i was not implying that the forum be dedicated soley to maynard. i know he is only PART of 2 terrific bands. i say maynard because it covers both apc and tool in one word, instead of just calling it the tool and apc forum.

know what...it is true that we don't really NEED another forum here. I'm guilty of voting for forums just to be nice to the peeps who want them. There are always a few threads about Tool and/or Maynard in the Other Artists forum. The only adoration thread I visit a lot is Bjork's...and I know I've voted for more than hers. Besides, people have been trying to start a forum like that for awhile...it just never seems to take off.

And anyway, who said that asking for a Maynard forum had anything to do with the other guys in Tool and A Perfect Circle? If someone wants a Maynard forum, they'll ask for a Maynard forum. If they want a Tool forum, they'll ask for a Tool forum.
A Maynard forum would just draw in the fans of APC and Tool combined.

I love to see people getting excited over new forums! I am moving this thread to the Other Musical Artists forum so it gets the exposure it deserves, since it was orginally posted in the Tori forum, and it is not about Tori.

Flappergirl - whoa, I don't think anyone can sum up sound with words accurately, expecially not bands like APC and Tool but I'll give it a shot.

APC - Billy Howerdel writes the music. They're kind of dark, gothic pop songs, if that helps. There's lots of layers and texture, the songs are really rich and accessible. They're quite emotive. Fluid, I guess. Maynard's voice sounds a lot more intimate on this record than it has on Tool records for the most part. The songs are mainly about relatiomnships.

Tool - Tool's an entity unto itself. Sheer brillance. There's some really good black humour running through all of their work. The songs are longer, more rhythmic, really driven by Danny's drums I think. God, it's hard to sum Tool up neatly. Just buy Anima, then check out Undertow and Opiate. It's worth it. You'll be obsessed within no time.
