Shivaree - I Oughtta Give You A Shot In The Head For Making Me Live In This Dump

Really good album. "Goodnight Moon" has been one of my favorite songs this year. And I get to see Shivaree in concert on the 17th! Martha Wainwright is opening! Life is good. Go download an mp3 of Martha Wainwright's "Lolita" at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...885769-1135156

For streaming audio of four Shivaree album tracks...

And if I remember correctly, cdnow.com has a few album reviews up.

The Shivaree concert was amazing! They really are a band to see live (and that performance from broadcast.com doesn't do them justice). They have an interesting sound. Ambrosia Parsley has this incredible voice with impressive control. She also tells the best stories. The new stuff I heard is making me crave a new album. Make sure to check out http://hollywoodandvine.com/shivaree/ and click on News so you can download Goodnight Moon and watch the video for it as well.

And Sarah Slean's Blue Parade was one of the cds in the mix being played at the venue (I love The Point) before the show! How cool is that?

I listened, but I wasn't too taken by Ambrosia's voice... Perhaps it's one that takes time to grow on you? At any rate, I will listen again because I did like the music, I just wasn't attracted to her singing much.

(And how did I miss this topic when you first posted it? I must be slipping here!)

I really like Shivaree's sound, but I guess I can see how Ambrosia's vocals wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. It does grow on you though.

<font face="comic sans ms">I LOVE Ambrosia's voice. I love how it's really versatile; it can go from girly to ferocious in a matter of seconds.

I thought I was the only one who'd heard of Shivaree. I bought their album on a whim and fell in love with it.
