I know someone mentioned about there being a secret backing vocalist on Rattlesnakes (wow I speak great english huh?) So anyway I was listening to it and thought I heard a males voice around 3 mins and 21 secs. I know that people thought Natashya sang on it but couldn't hear anything. Sorry if someone has mentioned this before. Does anyone agree? George xx | | | 11-14-2001, 03:30 PM | #2 | | oh, good morrrrrrrrning! George xx | the first thing that i thought when she said there was a secret backing vocalist was 'maynard!'. ha ha! i don't know about tash being on there... i've listened to the part where they said they heard her, and i didn't hear. tool also said that there was a special person on 'mantra'.... maybe it was tori. | | | 11-14-2001, 05:58 PM | #4 | | breadcrumbs lost under the snow Join Date: Nov 2001 Posts: 3,217 | Re: Re: Backing vocals on Rattlesnakes??! I was just curious because I don't hear any voices on mantra at all, and I have heard (i don't know how true this is) that they recorded cats meowing and then made them sound "different" ( i know nothing about technology!!) to produce the sound as it is now... also....did tori say herself that there was another person (besides herself) doing background vocals on Rattlesnakes or did people just think they heard someone else on the cd? I can't hear anyone else singing on the cd, but if tori mentioned this herself there must be someone else there....(obviously) p.s.-i can't wait to see her on jay tonight!!!!! __________________ "There's a stream that runs up in the rockies and it runs into a bigger stream and finally makes it's way to a river but never the ocean and I was thinking about being whole again and that you don't have to make it to the ocean to be whole again maybe you freeze and become a snow witch or maybe a sandwich and melt away and that's o.k. i think." -Tori | | | 11-14-2001, 06:07 PM | #5 | | no longer here. The journalist said that "anonymous friends" added overdubs to the song. That doesn't necessarily mean it was vocals that were contributed. That's the only mention of it that I know if. And the liner notes say "M&M" added stuff. *nick* | | | 11-14-2001, 06:48 PM | #9 | | breadcrumbs lost under the snow Join Date: Nov 2001 Posts: 3,217 | thanks nick __________________ "There's a stream that runs up in the rockies and it runs into a bigger stream and finally makes it's way to a river but never the ocean and I was thinking about being whole again and that you don't have to make it to the ocean to be whole again maybe you freeze and become a snow witch or maybe a sandwich and melt away and that's o.k. i think." -Tori | | | 11-14-2001, 07:06 PM | #10 | | clique outkast Join Date: Apr 2000 Posts: 9,690 | ug. why do they have to be so mysterieux...damn... great quote in the sig, nick | | | 11-14-2001, 08:57 PM | #11 | | Merman Eternally. It was uncomfirmed, although a while back on Lisa Loeb's site, they mentioned she was in talks to appear on an upcoming album of Tori, presumably SLG, considering the timing. However, Tori's never specificed or made any hints that she sometime will. But, wouldn't it be cool if she busted out the 'special guest' for a performance this tour? Ah, well...
