Unhappy La Bouche singer died in Swiss plane crash! oh no! :(

This was on www.mtv.com. Oh my god it's so sad I loved them! Planes fucking suck. First Aaliyah, then WTC, and now this. Grr.

Melanie Thornton, singer for the dance-pop duo La Bouche, died in Saturday's plane crash near Zurich, Switzerland.

Thornton, whose soaring voice helped give rise to the hits "Be My Lover" and "Sweet Dreams," both from La Bouche's 1996 album, Sweet Dreams, was one of 33 passengers aboard Crossair's Jumbolino jet, which went down just after 10 p.m. local time, according to the Associated Press. The singer was traveling from Berlin, Germany, to Zurich as part of a tour to promote her solo album Ready to Fly. The Atlanta resident was 34. She is survived by her husband.

Her latest single, "Wonderful Dream," went on sale Monday (November 26), its scheduled release date, at the request of Thornton's family, the news service reported. The song is also being used in a new Coca-Cola commercial.

Nine people survived the crash.

Thornton and rapper Lane McCray comprised La Bouche, which was put together by producer Frank Farian, the mastermind behind '80s lip-synch superstars Milli Vanilli. The group released three albums in their brief career: Sweet Dreams, Moment of Love (1997) and S.O.S. (1998).
